The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria has looked to Futures Group for technical assistance on multiple projects. Under Round 6, Futures Group supported establishment of 45 community care centers in five states of India by providing monitoring and evaluation, capacity building, resource mapping, process documentation and quality improvement. Under Round 7, Futures Group developed curricula for continuing medical education using e-learning. Through this effort, 90,000 in-service nurse trainees will receive training from master trainers at one of five Regional Resource Centres and 50 nurse training institutes. For the Round 9 project on intensified malaria control in seven northeastern states , Futures Group is developing, setting up, and managing project management information systems for Caritas India, its partner network, and sub- recipients in 49 districts. The project MIS will adopt the data collection tools and reporting forms used by the national program, while ensuring that all reporting formats are compatible and can be integrated with the national M&E system. In addition, Futures Group will map all private healthcare service providers in the target area and build the capacity of select organizations. Futures Group supports the Market-Based Partnerships for Health project by facilitating public-private partnerships for the Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme and designing an advocacy strategy for the Saathiya Youth Friendly Provider Network.
Futures Group is undertaking a national study to document social protection initiatives for children affected by HIV and AIDS, in partnership with UNICEF, the Ministry of Women and Child Development, and the National AIDS Control Organisation. The study aims to understand existing mechanisms and interventions, inform programming and policy needs, and recommend the most appropriate mix of services to be standardized to ensure comprehensive outreach.
