Include in this section the location of your business, a description of your operating facility, and information regarding equipment, supplies and vendors, and personnel. The T-Shirt Co. The T-Shirt Co. will lease space in the Rimrock Mall, Montana's largest shopping destination. The mall is located at 300 S. 24th St. West, Billings, MT 59102. The space will be 1,140 square feet, with 400 square feet being used for machinery. The location within the mall is one spot from center court. The space leases for $30,000 per year, plus $5.25 per square foot for maintenance, insurance, and promotional fees. The lease will be signed for three years at a cost of $3,000 per month.

Operating Plan Location

The T-Shirt Co. The location in the Rimrock Mall will deliver daily traffic from passers-by. Also, the mall is centrally located and convenient for all businesses. The mall is Montana's largest shopping destination, with over 85 specialty shops and three anchor stores: Dillard's, JCPenney, and Herberger's. The mall receives an average of 24,000 shoppers daily. Operating Plan Facility


The T-Shirt Co. The T-Shirt Co. needs a location that is central to all of their business customers, provides enough space for their equipment, and allows enough room for a sales floor. The area identified in the Rimrock Mall fits all of these requirements. The facility has been sectioned by a previous renter in the proportions necessary for the T-Shirt Co. to begin business. Minor repairs, maintenance, and decorating will provide the finishing touches on the establishment. The location will be leased for an initial three-year term.

The T-Shirt Co. In order for the T-Shirt Co. to begin business, Ms. Marx needs to secure multiple items that will allow them to perform their business objectives. Follows is a list, with prices, of the initial start-up equipment: 1. Press $25,000 2. Silk Screening Equipment $45,000 3. Cash Register $5,000 4. Furniture and Fixtures $5,000 5. Office Supplies $1,000 6. Delivery Van $18,000 7. Sewing Machine $3,000 The delivery van and minor equipment will be purchased in Billings from local businesses. The press and silk screening equipment will be purchased from a national distributor. Ms. Marx and Ms. Nelson will complete all minor repairs and decorating.

Operating Plan General Operations


The T-Shirt Co.

The T-Shirt Co. will maintain a regular work schedule with the exception of holidays as dictated by the mall hours. The store will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays, and 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays. As the need arises, Ms. Marx will work additional hours to fulfill orders. The T-Shirt Co. will follow all federal, state, and local regulations regarding OSHA standards and employee-related rules. No employee under the age of 18 will be allowed to operate the heavy equipment.

Operating Plan Personnel Plan


The T-Shirt Co. The T-Shirt Co. will be owned and operated by Jan Marx. She will employ Paula Nelson, a veteran of retail and fashion marketing in Billings, and two part-time college students. Ms. Marx will handle all administrative tasks, including payroll and bookkeeping. Ms. Nelson and Ms. Marx will share in the ordering and displaying of products. All four employees will act as sales staff and will share in the duties of operating the machinery and fulfilling orders.

The T-Shirt Co. The T-Shirt Co. will acquire their entire inventory through national distributors. By buying in bulk, Ms. Marx will negotiate the best pricing for all of her purchases.
