MARIAN PRAYER PROGRAM IN HONOR OF OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church Tuesday February 28th after the 5:30 P.M. Mass San Felipe de Jess Chapel Friday March 2nd at 7 p.m. In August 2011 at the Supreme K of C Convention in Denver a special prayer program dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe was launched and continues through 2012. Specially prepared framed images of Our Lady of Guadalupe were given to each of the Orders 72 jurisdictions for use in the prayer program. The images have unique features: they were touched to the original tilma of St. Juan Diego, which bears the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, and were blessed by Pope Benedict XVI in Rome. In addition, the frame for the image is sealed with soil from Mexicos Tepeyac hill, where Our Lady of Guadalupe appeared. All are welcome to join us at St. Edward on February 28th, following the 5:30 p.m. Mass for Marian Devotion and rosary and to view this special image. SUPPORT PARENTAL NOTIFICATION There will be tables located at the Church exit at all Masses on Sat./Sun. March 3rd and 4th to collect signatures to put the California Initiative Measure for Parental Notification prior to an abortion to a minor on the November 2012 ballot. Currently, in California, a Doctor can perform a surgical or chemical abortion on a minor girl (under 18) without informing her parents or legal guardian. The intent of this measure is to require Doctors, under law, to notify parents and guardians of their intent to facilitate and perform an abortion (taking the life of an unborn baby in the girl's womb) on their minor child. In California, a girl under 18 years can't get a flu shot, tooth cavity filled, or an aspirin dispensed by the school nurse without a parent knowing. In cases where a child is pregnant from an adult and given an abortion this crime is not reported to police for prosecution. ParishPay iPad2 winners: Jerry and Rosie Klein,
