Department of Science & Humanities in 200708 About us

Since the inception of the college in 2007, its focus has been to impart instruction in basic subjects like English, Physics, Mathematics, Environmental Studies and other relevant subjects to engineering applications. The Department focuses primarily on improving soft skills communication and personality development of the students along with enhancing their language skills of those coming from rural background. This in turn aims at the students achieving competence in English language that would help them in getting lucrative employment. The Department is equipped with the state of the art infrastructural facilities. The course designed for English Language and Communication Skills lab helps them in their preparation for Interviews GRE, TOFEL, IELTS, etc., in their career progression. The faculty members have published a good number of research papers in reputed journals during the last three years. Almost all the faculty members are upgrading their skill set by attending seminars, conferences, workshops, symposia and pursuing higher education in their core subjects. The dedicated and experienced staff in the department, strive not only to improve the language competence of the students but also enhance their employability skills. The Department organizes many curricular, co-curricular, extracurricular and cultural activities. Departments wall journal enables students to exhibit their latent literary and artistic talents.

Swarnandhra Institute of Engineering and Technology was established in the year 2007- 08 with three branches of engineering ECE, CSE and IT- with an intake of 60 each. The total strength of the college in the academic year was 180. The department has five state of the-art labs to cater to the academic needs of the students. The Five labs established in liaison with the prescribed syllabii for all the three branches of I B.Tech., are English language and Communication Skills Laboratory Computer Programming Laboratory Electronic Devices and Circuits Laboratory Electrical Engineering Laboratory I T Work Shop ELCS Lab was established with 35 computers and 35 computers were dedicated to CP Lab. Many literary and extra curricular activities were conducted to bring out the latent talents in the students. Separate time was allotted for conduction of communication skills and personality development classes. Special coaching was imparted to slow learners to help them grow on par with the quick learners.
