Selected Achievements
o o Recognized as cementing expert worldwide Headed the development of the "mud technology allows erodibility" that removal of the Partially DehydratedGelled (PDG) mud during cementing operations for much improved mud removal and zone isolation during cement jobs Managed the development of the first simulator that industry cementing included the phenomenon of free-fall (Utubing) Has developed unsteady-state wellbore temperature simulators paper Wrote first industry the demonstrating that cement plugs tend to flow when placed on top of light weight muds. Designed industry guidelines Has performed and published extensive studies in gas migration after cementing Designed and introduced one of the most accepted gas migration lab test cells in the oil patch, and introduced the Scale-down method to test the gas migration capabilities of cement slurries Has worked with other companies in many joint industry projects including long term zone isolation, cementing of external casing packers, and sustained casing pressure solutions Headed an effort to develop a continuous circulatable hole monitoring method to help optimize mud displacement and zone isolation Introduced the concept of "job signatures" to monitor the progress of a cement job during the actual execution
