ECOLOGIC MODEL A.

HYPOTHESIS Factors like the presence of unhealthy lifestyle practices (passive smoking, drinking), unhealthy diet (increase in fat, increase in salt diet), genetic predisposition (hypertension, lung diseases, and cancer), obesity, and stress, can predispose a person to have essential hypertension, DM, renal stones, and bronchial asthma with pneumonia.

B. PREDISPOSING FACTORS a) HOST UNHEALTHY LIFESTYLE PRACTICES He admitted that he drinks alcohol ranging from 4-5 bottles even one case of beer but occasionally along with his friends. Last month he stated that he drunk 3 bottles of matador. And he also admitted that he is just a passive smoker but not an active smoker. He relaxes himself sometimes by drinking alcoholic beverages along with his friends. UNHEALTHY DIET Prior to his confinement the patients food preference include grilled or roasted meat and sausages. GENETIC PREDISPOSITION His parents are separated for a long time and he is living with his mother in the US before but is currently living with his relatives here in the Philippines. The client does not have any idea about any illnesses in his fathers side. But on his mothers side his grandparents are still alive and are known to have hypertension. His mother is 39 years old with no any unknown illness. And has four siblings, one of which died because of lung disease while the others are still alive and are known to hypertension, ovarian cyst, and colon cancer. The patient is the eldest and has two siblings but with no unknown illness. OBESITY

The patient was diagnosed obese since his childhood years. More over obesity runs in their blood. And his weight is 113.9kg and a BMI of 40.37 which interpreted as Obese II. STRESS He verbalized that he is a bit stress on school adjustment because the language used is Filipino. He is more close to his friends that is why he is a bit uncomfortable with his relatives.

b) AGENT There is bacterial agent involved in the development of the illness of the client which is pneumonia.

c) ENVIRONMENT He lives with his aunt and they clean their house twice a week. They only have one comfort room which they clean every after they take a bath. But he is not satisfied with the adequacy of ventilation and temperature unlike in when he is living in California. C. ECOLOGIC MODEL

D. ANALYSIS Essential hypertension, DM, renal stones, and bronchial asthma with pneumonia develops and progresses due to the interplay of different factors. There is the causative agent causes the onset of his pneumonia. The host and his characteristics and practices are the ones responsible for this. Aside from that, his environment may also aggravate the occurrence of his disease primarily his bronchial asthma.

E. CONCLUSION A healthy lifestyle coupled with disease prevention activities may help the client avoid the complications of essential hypertension, DM, renal stones, and bronchial asthma with pneumonia.

F. RECOMMENDATION a. General health of the patient including his nutritional status should be considered. Foods such as fruits, vegetables, protein-rich food, etc. should be consumed to improve his immune system. b. Religiously follow the clients medication regimen in order to avoid complications of the disease. c. Maintain the patients hydration to its functional level d. Be alert for any signs and symptoms of disease or any adverse reaction of medications to be reported

e. Advise patient to live a healthy lifestyle. f. Advise patient and SO to maintain a clean and cool environment to avoid triggering asthma attack. g. Offer support to the family and give palliative care to the patient.
