In 2011, Farenthold wrote that there were domestic solutions for lower gas prices. He wrote High gas prices make life more expensive and most families have no way to cut back on their fuel use. He claimed Congress was working hard to lower gas prices by increasing the domestic supply. That program would allow people able to give extensive personal information the ability to move through airport checkpoints quicker. Napolitano said she did believe in the program and was working swiftly for it.
