IMPROVE RELIABILITY, REDUCE POWER CONSUMPTION

Pumps are inherently unreliable. The weakest links are seals and bearings. The cause of a seal failure or bearing failure is rarely the fault of the seal or bearing. It is just a sign that something has been done incorrectly.

For pumps, seals and bearings to be reliable, everything must be done right. We must design systems properly, set-up piping properly, select the right pump both hydraulically and mechanically, install it correctly, operate it at the correct ow rate and maintain it properly. A seal failure is just a sign that we have a problem with our pumping system. A course on reliability therefore needs to cover everything to do with the pump and system.

Organisations spend millions running and repairing pumps. Nine out of ten pumps fails early. If we can improve reliability we can reduce the cost of owning pumps considerably. Power is a major cost for any organisation. If we can reduce the amount of power required to run our pumps, we can reduce the cost of owning them considerably. This SALVO Global course will give attendees the ability to improve pump reliability and reduce power consumption and therefore make a huge difference to the organisations protability. The over-riding aim of this training course is to reduce the costs associate with owning and running pumps.

MORE ABOUT YOUR EXPERT TRAINER:

Glenn has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and has worked in the pump industry for more than 20 years.

He originally spent ten years working with a specialist manufacturer of engineered pumps for the oil and gas industries. This was an ideal environment for learning about pumps, both hydraulically and mechanically. The oil and gas industries have a very wide variety of pumping applications, including large variations in temperatures, pressures, the type of liquid being pumped and the system design. In those years he gained experience in many areas of pump design, manufacture, application and sales.

Glenn now has his own training and consulting company. He regularly runs training courses all around Australia and has run courses and presented papers in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and New Zealand.

He has completed an MBA in Technology Management and has gained experience in many areas of business, including; contract management, project management, quality assurance, purchasing, inspection and expediting, job review and process improvement, IT management, budgeting and forecasting and strategic planning.

GLENN NOW HAS HIS OWN TRAINING AND CONSULTING COMPANY AND OFFERS THE FOLLOWING SERVICES:
Pump system review Specication writing, tender evaluation and purchasing Pump trouble shooting Pump & System Training Courses

His consulting jobs have included work in the mining, minerals processing, water, waste water, power and oil and gas industries. Some of his clients include:

Unocal Shell Rening BP Reneries BHPBilliton Rio Tinto Water Corporation (Western Australia) Orica Alcoa World Alumina

Kvaener Fluor Worley Parsons Petronas TNB Power Seraya PUB Singapore Petroleum Co and many more......
