HQ 1 Company Command Squad(W/ two bodyguards, carapace armor, melta gun, cap'n w/power sword and plasma pistol)

Lord Commissar(Power sword, plasma pistol) HQ: Drop the Lord Commissar, he just isn't worth it unless you're getting a blob squad. Your CCS is actually the best plasma taxi you have, as it's not going to be a scoring unit. Let's just strip it down to a melta unit however CCS; Chimera (ML/HF), 4 x Melta = 145 Elites - 10 Kasrkin/Stormtroopers (Sarge w/Power sword, Flamer, Grenade Launcher) Now I like Stormtroopers even though they're outclassed by vets. I am going to assume you want to use similar models to the ones you have, so I wouldn't tell you to drop them. I would suggest picking up some melta guns for them and using two squads of 5 guys with 2 meltas each for deepstriking and killing armor. You can also use them to alpha strike if you put them in Chimeras. Let's just take two squads of them now and see where we are 2 x 5 stormtroopers with 2 x melta each: 205 Troops - Infantry Platoon 1 -Platoon Cmd Squad (Plasma Gun, Platoon Standard, Vox) -Infantry Squad (Flamer, Commisar w/ Plasma Pistol, Vox) -Infantry Squad (Flamer, Vox) -Hvy Weapons Squad (autocannon, two missile launchers) Mhmmm. I am a fan of infantry platoons, especially at small point values from 1000 - 1500 points. Let's look at yours. You have a lot of upgrades and conflicting weapon types. Let's strip it down and build it back up. PCS; 30, 2x Infantry Sections, 100 = 130 total. Let's think now, we have a lot of AT already, so let's add 4x flamers to the PCS and a Chimera so we can drive by hoards and roast them. 130 + Chimera (ML/HF) + 4x flamers = 205 Now let's add a third squad, and autocannons for each of the squads as well as gren. launchers. 205 + Inf. Section + 3x Autos + 3x GL = 300 We're going to blob these together, so let's get one commisar, and 3x power weapons as well as 3x melta bombs for the sarges. 300 + Commisar + PWs 3x + Melta bombs 3x = 380

Now we have a nice beefy unit to hold objectives in your deployment zones, tie up CC units, or advance into the midfield with decent firepower and a nice little flamer taxi. Current point total: 730... not bad. -Veteran Squad 1 (Flamer, Carapace, Krak Grenades, Camo-Cloaks) -Veteran Squad 2 (Flamer, Carapace, Krak Grenades, Camo-Cloaks) Now your vet squads are a little messy. What are their roles? They're not taking use of their 3x special weapon slots and wasting a lot of points on camo cloaks. Let's take 2 squads with 3x melta and Chimeras. 2 x Vets + 3x Melta + 2x Chimera (ML/HF) = 310 (I give mine shotties because they usually are in grave peril of getting assaulted after killing vehicles). Total = 730 + 310 = 1040 When you've spent 2/3's of your points, make sure you have a solid core. We have plenty of troop choices, anti tank, and a decent all purpose blob squad. Not bad at all. Lot's of Chimeras too. Fast Attack 2 Armoured Sentinels (Plasma Gun, Heavy Flamer, Spotlights) 1 Scout Sentinel (Missile Launcher, Hunter-Killer Missile) 1 Vendetta Gunship (Bolter Sponsons) Now your fast attack is messy messy. Armoured Sentinels are not great in games +1000 points. Let's keep some sentinels in the list though, they're not terrible and can outflank. 2 x Scout Sentinels w/ ML = 70 If you're going to take 1 Vendetta, you might as well take two. They're going to draw a lot of fire. 2 x Vendettas = 260 Total = 1040 + 330 ---> 1370 Looking good. Let's think about rounding out your army. Heavy Support 1 Leman Russ (Lascannon, Heavy Bolter Sponsons, Extra Armour) I would say drop this. The thing with Russes, you take a lot or none at all. One is going to get focused down. 2+ (I have taken 4 at 1500 before) can drive your opponent up the wall. If you want to take Russes, take two of them and drop a vet squad if you're playing 1600 points. Keep them naked, maybe extra armor. Don't put a lascannon

on it, use a HF. Let's spend the last 230 We're going to add 2 x special weapon squads with 3x melta guns to put in the Vendettas for alpha striking fun 65 x 2 = 130. 100 points to go... with all this outflanking potential, let's get an astropath... (30). Let's also upgrade two of the vet squads to 3 x plasma guns (+15 x 2 = 30). With 40 points to go... you can go hog wild with your upgrades now. Heheh. Let's take a look at what we have. CCS w/ 3 Melta, Astropath + Chimera(ML/HF) Stormtroopers (5x) with 2x melta guns (deepstriking) Stormtroopers (5x) with 2x melta guns (deepstriking) PCS w/ 4 flamers + Chimera(ML/HF) * Infantry Section w. GL, Autocannon, Meltabomb, PW, Commisar * Infantry Section w. GL, Autocannon, Meltabomb, PW * Infantry Section w.
