Process of Distribution in CV Tugu Jaya Ice Cream

Distribution is a process of delivering goods or services from producers to consumers and the users, when and where the goods or service required. Distribution process in essence creating a benefit (utility) time, place and the transfer of property right. In this case I will take the example of the distribution of CV Tugu Jaya Ice Cream Yogyakarta. CV Tugu Jaya Ice Cream Yogyakarta was established in October 2010 by Adhi Setya Ramadhan as an owner. For now specialized in snacks, especially soft ice cream. It provides 4 flavors of ice cream. There are vanilla, chocolate, strawberry and durian. Generally the price per cup to consumers is Rp. 1.500,00. CV Tugu Jaya Ice Cream is located at Papringan Yogyakarta. There are three types of distribution. First, direct distribution carries goods directly from a producer to the business purchaser or consumer. One of the newest means of selling in a direct channel is the Internet. A direct channel may allow the producer to serve its customers better and at a lower price than is possible using a retailer. Sometimes a direct channel is the only way to sell the product because using channel intermediaries may increase the price above what consumers are willing to pay. Another reason to use a direct channel is control. Second, the semi-direct distribution, where the distribution of manufactured goods from producers to consumers through an intermediary entity (shop) owned by the producers themselves. And lastly, indirect distribution. In this system a manufacturer does not directly sell their products, either an objector service to the user but rather through an intermediary. CV Tugu jaya ice cream yogyakarta is using the approach of direct and indirect distribution because they sell their products to schools in Yogyakarta and Tugu Jaya also provide delivery service if there are consumers who want to reserve for family events, birthday party or other events. Initially the products were only distributed to 10 schools in Yogyakarta until finally reaching up to 20 schools in just over a year. Besides Yogyakarta, their products are also distributed

to four other cities such as Solo, Semarang, Brebes and Purwokerto. When the process of distribution in progress at schools and restaurants, distribution was conducted using retail system, in which either schools or restaurants bought ice cream with the price initially agreed, and it sold to consumers. The process of distribution for Yogyakarta, Solo, Semarang and Purwokerto is done by using a pick-up or if it could use a motorcycle . In every cities there is a "warehouse" that holds the whole ice cream from

Yogyakarta so it can be distributed using motorcycles in order to facilitate the process of distribution. If the products are distributed out of Yogyakarta, it use a large trucks to transport the freezer that can hold 1.500 cups of ice cream. That's a brief explanation about the process of distribution of CV Tugu Jaya Ice Cream Yogyakarta. CV Tugu Jaya Ice Cream also offers a franchise for those interested. For now CV Tugu Jaya Ice Cream already have about 24 employees in 5 cities.
