CHAPTER-1 1.0.0 INTRODUCTION For proper functioning of the school it is importance to have a comprehensive and detailed system of the Personal record of each and every student. The secondary education has rightly observed the need of maintaining the personnel record of the student at school as neither the external examination. Singly not together with internal examination can give a correct and complete picture of pupils all round progress at any particular stage of his education. Cumulative Record presents a complete picture of the individual and development process in a valid and reliable manner. For this purpose a proper system at school

record should record should be maintained for every pupil indicting the work done by them in the school form day to day, month to month, term to term and year. 1.1.0 WHAT IS CUMULATIVE RECORD CARD:Cumulative Record card is a document in which it is recorded cumulatively useful and reliable information about the particular pupils at one place. At present a complete and growing pictures of the individual for the purpose of helping him in solution of his educational, vocational, personal, problems. This cumulative record contains the information regarding the mental, physical, social and emotional aspects of the chills. These information are gathered on students through the use of various techniques like case study inventories, questionnaires, observation interview and the like. The consecutive record generally covers three years. Jane Walters defines, C.R.C. Periodically the Significant information gathered on the students through the use of various techniques such as tests, inventories, questionnaires, observations, interview, case study, case conference, and the like should be assembled in summery from the cumulative record card. This cumulative record in an account of the childs history in the schools. 1.2.1 IMPORTANCE OF C.R.C:-

The cumulative Record of the pupil is required to give complete pictures of progress of the students. The internal and external examinations simply give a partial view of the academic achievement and in the other fields of personality development but it can not lead to sure judgment. The cumulative record helps the teachers to know the interest, talents, personalities, growth of personality at various stages, her/his participation and social adjustment in various activates. It guides the teacher, employer and the students life, his capacities weakness.limitations and strength. Besides the introduction of internal assessment it is necessary for the teachers to keep. A record of pupils progress which may be submitted to authorities and will count towards the success or failure of the candidate in the final public examination. The growing importance or cumulative record, the secondary education commission recommends that such charts should be common feature of all schools all over the country. 1.3.1 Types of C.R.C:-

There are three Principle types of C.R.C and they are asfollows:1. The pocket on folder type :This type of C.R.C may very in size from 4*6 inches to full letter size. The principle of using this type of C.R.C in filing cards of different colors may also be used for the purpose of easy identification of needed forms. It only contains the same of the pupil. 2. Singal card type:This type of C.R.C provides pupils data are recorded on both sides of the card. An additional card is attached for additional information. 3. In a cumulative record folder pupils are usually recorded on both sides of the folder in specially prepared blanks. 1.4.0 OBJECTIVES OF C.R.C:-

1. To be acquainted with process of maintaining cumulative record card. 2. To give complete picture of all round progress of pupils under study. 3. To know the children under study their potentialities, talents, interests,growth of personality achievement in different fields. 4. To help parents parents and teachers in a after school placement of their children. 5. to facililtate to process of internal assessment of the pupil. 6. To help parents and teachers in deciding the course of studies of their pupils at higher secondary stage. 7. To give porper guidance to the teachers Headmaster and parents regarding the curricular and co-curricular activities of the students. 1.5.0. LIMITATIONS OF C.R.C:-

1. It is a time consuming method. 2. Small children are not capable to express their feeling carefully. 3. It is difficult on the part of teacher to know the whole history of the child. 4. It requires the services the service of expert on trained persons. 5. There is shortage of adequate trained persons.

INTRODUCTION: The strength of the project C.R.C. lies on the types of the data collected, procedure of the data collection, development of C.R.C. and the selection of the subject which the present chapter deals. SELECTION OF THE SUBJECT: The investigator selected some knows cases for the sake of his convenience. He/She Personally interviewed the children under study neighbors and their friends in formally. He/She also observed the behavior of cases of at different situations. The five subject are such as , KALPANA GOUDO, SONALI MONALI MOHANTY, SUMEET SAHU, DEEPAK PATTANAIK, ALOK GURU, S.S.U.P School Old Gunupur for the in the District of Rayagada. DEVELOPMENT OF C.R.C. FORMAT: The C.R.C. format consists of all the data which is collected for the C.R.C. project, the details are as bellows:The first data consists of identification data in this data the pupils names, sex, data of birth, fathers name, Mothers name, Occupation of the father, permanent and present address in exist. The Second consists of the school, his name and address of the school, data of joining, class in which he/she joined, data of leaving, reason for leaving etc. The type of data depicts the family history which includes type of family, number of family members, economic status of family and childs position in the family. The fourth type of data shows the physical data of the child that is the Height, Wight, Disease, and General Health conditions of the child, any treatment/medical check up etc. for the last three years. The fifth type consists of school attendance of the child. This table includes the possible attendance actual attendance and nature of absence of the child.

The sixth table depicts the performance in different curriculum activities, includes sports and games, cultural, social service, red-cross/ N.C.C. and literary activities. The seventh table shows the merit obtained by the pupil. The merits and given in studies, games debate, drama, scout, Guide and social service by the class teacher. Lastly the data depicts the personality traits of the child. Grade given by the class teacher in truthfulness, courtesy, co-cooperativeness, self confidence, industry, emotional stability, sociability and honesty are included in the table.
