STATE SWITCHING SYSTEM 1. Synchronous : No inrush current due to precise auto zero search logic. No current or voltage surge. Since no inrush current, the distribution transformer never subjected to short circuit current, life of the transformer increases. 2. No over compensation, under compensation and unbalanced compensation. V ery large switching surges. Asynchronous : Large switching surges as high as 200 times the rated capacitor current. MANUAL SWITCHING CONTACTOR SWITCHING

Repeated and momentary Short Circuit currents due to capacitor switching will have impact on the life of the transformer

Repeated and momentary short circuit currents due to capacitor switching will impact the life of the transformer

Welding of the contactor contacts due to high inrush currents resulting in continuous undesirable over-compensation. Blowing of fuses due to high current, causing under-compensation or unbalanced compensation on network.

3. Smooth and instant disconnection of capacitor units.

Power fluctuation and voltage decay will result in contactors tending to chatter rapidly leading to very high inrush currents due to repeated short circuits. Manual operation is very much dependent on the operator. Any lapse on the part of the operator may lead to improper achievement of P .F. resulting in financial loss.

The capacitor bank unit remains in useful operational service with maximum up time.

STATE SWITCHING SYSTEM 4. Solid State device are designed to work at very low voltages, as no chattering.

MANUAL SWITCHING

CONTACTOR SWITCHING

Switching ON of the capacitors using contactors causes problem of chattering when operating the contactors at very low voltage resulting in very high inrush currents due to repeated short circuits. Compensation at extremely low voltage is not possible. High inrush current increases the possibility of MPP capacitors exploding & catching fire because of the excessive pressure generated inside the capacitor unit due to its self healing property. Life of the capacitors progressively deteriorates. At the time of switch ON, heavy sparks are generated at the contact tips of the contactors causing dangerous situation like fire, short circuits etc. Usually 25 kV Ar banks are provided and with these close compensation is not possible. In case of operation through an operator, close compensation impossible. P .F. cannot be maintained at 0.99/1.00 constantly because of slow switching of upto 2 minutes or more. Reswitching is not possible until the capacitor is fully discharged Much larger cabinet size is required.

Compensation at extremely low voltage is possible. 5. The point of capacitor switching is controlled and hence life of the capacitor unit and switching unit is maximised.

6. No sparking at the time of Switching ON

7. Due to small steps, close compensation of power factor is possible.

8. By maintaining P .F. at 0.99/1.00 datar RTPFC augments your existing network capacity by 8 to10% because of ultra fast switching within 40 to 60 milliseconds. 9. datar RTPFC System is available in compact cabinet size

STATE SWITCHING SYSTEM 10. With only one controller, which displays all electrical parameter and printout facility also possible. 11. Modern technology. Potential electricity savings of 10-12%. 12. Total maintenance free. No moving parts are in the system depend upon your load condition. 13. The RTPFC can be operated in two modes: AUTO & MANUAL. The mode can be selected by pressing a single mode switch. In MANUAL mode, the capacitor banks are connected to the network when IN switch is pressed and the banks are isolated when OUT switch is pressed. An electrician can manage this operation.

MANUAL SWITCHING

CONTACTOR SWITCHING

Numerous meters at various locations render it difficult to monitor. No provision for printout facility. Old technology.

Numerous meters at various locations render it difficult to monitor. No provision for printout facility. Old conventional technology but with higher System power loss. Maintenance is required for contactors, etc. will require to replace often.

Lot of maintenance is required.

Only manual mode operation is possible but is dependent on operators efficiency.

Only manual mode operation is possible with MCCB or Isolator.
