To our honourable chairperson, Mr. Salleh b.

Mat, To our distinguished guest, Dato Setapa Mamat, the vice chairman of UMNO youth, To our honourable Mr. Aziz Ghazali, the head of PPD Pasir Mas, To our honourable Mr. Idrus Sendayu, the chairman of SK. Jerami Parents Teacher Association, Teachers, the committee members of PTA and to the dearest parents, Alhamdulillah, thanks to Allah the Almighty for giving us the opportunity to reunite in this fruitful meeting today. I would like to take this opportunity to extend my gratitiude to all the respectful guests for sharing their time with us here for a good purpose.I would like to highlight mainly concerning on our children welfare. This is our 32nd annual meeting and we could witness here the attendance of parents is very promising today. Teachers and parents must play the vital role to ensure the progress of our children is achieved. The progress or the achievement need a series of effective programmes conducted by the school. I am sure today we will have a mutual consensus today after enlisting all the programmes and any suggestions from the parents regarding our children progress. Ladies and gentlemen, The record of attendance of pupils to school last year shows a poor percentage. If this continues, this will be a bad remark for our children mannerism and learnings. Parents must keep in mind, without proper education, our children will be like a tree without leaves. If a student absent for a day, he or she will miss the entire lesson. I urge all parents to be aware and understand especially children who are creating problems to come to school. Let them know from you as well that education is important. After this, I hope we could reduce the poor percentage of pupils attendance to school. We need your cooperation and support. Ladies and gentlemen, Discipline is essential for every human. We educate people through discipline. Our children need to be disciplined in order to achieve success in their studies. According to our discipline teacher, there are some reports of our children misbehaving in our school such as quarrelsome, stealing, bringing harm objects to school, playing truant and bullying. I wonder what makes them committing these negative activities if it is not from home. We are not trying to excuse from this matter but the fact that after a few questionnaire sessions with students, it really shows that they started to do these negative activities at home. The point is, all parents should understand that discipline starts from home. All of you should monitor your children in every aspects : where do they go, whom they are befriended, the words they use to communicate. If these all are done, we wont have any further problems in educating them. Again, we need your support. Ladies and gentlemen, Dear parents, this year we have a few programmes focusing on their studies. Apart from the exam class, Year 6, we are planning to conduct extra class for Year 4 and 5 as well. The main objective is that we

want them too to be exposed with exam orientated questions and they should know what they are learning. The classes will be held every weekend in the morning. We choose these two days because the other days, the pupils will be engaged with their religious activities. Moreover there are no bookshop, mobile library or tuition centre to support their learning. We will invite the examinersto come to our school to guide our pupils. What we need here is your financial contributions to make sure the programmes go on floor smoothly. Ladies and gentlemen, Next my issue is focusing on teachers. To our honourable Head of PPD Pasir Mas, for your information we are still lacking of two optional English teachers. The present optional English teacher is running one man show to make sure the English Panel still alive. This is a great impact for the children specifically. The quality of English teaching by the non optional teacher will be not the same as the optional teacher. We are not underestimating them because they gave the full support but until to which extent. I hope our PPD officer will take this issue as a serious concern and send to our school a few more English optional teachers to our school soon. Ladies and gentlemen, We are now in the world of technology. Everything is moving fast. Our school is still left behind this though we have enough computers to do any work. What I am trying to tell here is now our technology education is running the online education where we can interact with the tutors, answering ample of questions and more on. What we need here is a greater proper internet connection. Yes we do have the schoolnet line but it is rather used in the lab only. We want to use it in a greater range what so called wireless interenet and for this we need a few branded modems to operate this. With this facility , teachers and students will find out easy at anywhere or anytime regarding the teaching and learning. I am sure this also will boost a great impact on their learning and teaching. For this, I hope our vice chairman of UMNO youth will arrange for this matter. It is the benefit for our children. Ladies and gentlemen, In conclusion, I would like to stress that Parents Teacher Association now plays a major role in upbringing the progress of a school, society and nation. In this wonderful evening, let us think and implement the positive thoughts and suggestions for the benefit of our children. They are the generation who will lead us in the future. To achieve this, we should cater them with proper mannerism and education. With this I as the headmaster of this chool officiate the 32nd Annual Meeting of Parents and Teachers Association meeting. Thank you.
