end of each term, the results of which are used to help us refine which set each pupil is in.
Year 7 Mathematics
A brief course description Year 7
To ensure that pupils are taught material which will challenge them without putting them off, mathematics is taught in ability sets, based initially upon the Key Stage 2 SAT scores. In Year 7, there are two equal bands. Within each band, there are six ability sets:
Set 1 and 2 for the most able mathematicians

Set 3 and 4 for the next most able Sets 5 and 6 which offer more support.
Year 7 Mathematics
The first test will be in the week starting It is a one hour non-calculator test, but usual mathematics equipment such as pen, ruler, protractor, pencil and rubber are needed, and will not be loaned out.
