Review the videotape of your speech. As you watch, answer the following questions. 1. How did you try to get the audiences attention? How effective was it? I invited two classmates to be my models in the speech. I think that audiences might considered this is a great speech, so they would get attention to me. However, I don't think this way worked effectively as I expected. 2.

I think I had communicated my purpose for giving this speech, and It is in fact much better than demo.1#. But, I feel like I kind of lose something, I mean, I need more, more specific, more clear. I knew I was nervous that I didn't quite memorize my speech, so I was afraid to spoke wrong. But actually I skipped the part that uses to describe my purpose instead of spoke the wrong words. The part that I had been skipped was to motivate audiences to listen to me, so I don't think I motivate audiences enough.

Did you clearly communicate your purpose (e.g. I am going to inform/convince you about/to)? How did you motivate your audience to listen to you?

How was your speech organized? How clearly/logically did it progress? Could I stop paying attention to you and read your outline instead and still follow along easily?

The transition I used the most times in the entire speech was "now", now, let's do this part. or now, let's tie this knot. and also now, I finish the whole process. oh, now I got headache. In my personal opinion, I disagree that uses the same word (phrase) so many times would make the sentence, speaking better, in contrary, that makes non-sense and annoying audiences, and gets them unimpressive. So, I don't really think I did a good job on transitional section. But, even I think of that, I can't stop myself using the same word over again and again during speech.

What were some of the transition words you used in your speech? Did you clearly indicate movement from one part of your speech to another? Why/why not?

I think my outline for demo 2# is a lots better than demo 1#,. In the last speech outline, I admit that I don't even know I should follow the outline rubric (this reason sounds so unbelievable!) Even my outline is better than before, I still think I can do it better next time. Such as, I can get more and more details in the outline, and a better conclusion ( my conclusion for this time was too short and Concisely). By the way, Mr. webb, you can't move your eye away from me, because I am more amazing than the paper outline (even I am still far away from your ideal speaker)!

Explain why your main points were/were not clearly presented.

My main point for this speech was to show audiences (mostly girls) the best way to tie special knot on their scarf. I motioned this main point before I did my perform. This main point was not clearly flowing into audiences' ears because I was too nervous, fear to made mistakes, even if I didn't have stupid acts within 5 minutes.

Evaluate your conclusion. Did it connect seamlessly with the introduction and body? Did you give a clear sense of ending?
Firstly, i did not like my conclusion since it was too short. Secondly, because of short describe sentences, it only recovers the introduction. It didn't even touch a piece of body paragraph. The major reason why I done the conclusion roughly is that I don't know how much the information I should reclaim in the conclusion. I wrote my outline in a simplest way, I used as less sentences as I could to made the outline. I think I should use the opposite way to write outline next time. Evaluate your delivery. enough/connecting to your whole audience enough?

I think the delivery of my speech information is pretty ok. But a few parts need to improve. For example I could feel that I wasn't articulate as I did in the first intro speech. I spoke as slow as I could during the speech, I didn't know why I sound non-articulate. I don't I put enough energy into it, my volume sound so claim (my face doesn't look nervous, but my mind feels pressure, and my sweat gland is rebelling).

How did your use of voice, gestures, and bodily action enhance (or detract) from the message of your speech? What will you do to enhance the message of your speaking opportunities?
I notice from my three speech videos that my body would shake all the time while I am speaking until my hands are doing something, such as stirring chocolate or ting knots. My body language is always ambiguously. I know how important the body language is, but I don't quite understand how to perform a betterunderstanding body language to audiences, in other word means I don't know what gestures are considered as body language or delivery tools. I should practice more the action of body language, such as, walking, winking eyes.

Did you appear sincerely interested and enthusiastic in the topic (your classmate) and in your talking with your audience? What did your body language and eye contact say to your audience? Give examples to support your answers.
I did a better eye contact with audiences this time.In fact, I don't know if my mind feel sincerely interested and enthusiastic while I am speaking, but I know I look really claim from the video. In this speech, all I cared about after I got onto the stage was to let my audiences saw clearly each steps I was doing. This belief motivated me did the better eye contact with audiences.

Evaluate the overall success of this speech. What grade (A-F) would you assign this presentation? Why?
I remembered, on the last self-evaluation sheet, I wrote B, C or even lower. That is so negative (we need positive thinking, so that things we want will come to us from God's hands) this time, I am giving myself an lower A or a higher B instead of C or LOWER. because I feel like this speech is the best one I did so far. But, in realistic, the question is wrote for myself, I want to have positive thinking, so I can really do better next time. (the right of grading is on Mr.Web's hands, actually! hahaha)

Describe what you have learned from this speaking opportunity, and how you will use this information in the future.

In this speaking opportunity, I see some of my mistakes that happens before, in which means I don't improve as much as I expect. So I think I will keep practice and practice till the mistake disappear. I think I will recall the video and compare it to my newest speech video, and see if I progress or not.
12. What did you learn from this presentation that will help you prepare your future speech? List at least three things that you plan on working on. (To just practice is not a specific step exactly how will you practice?) a.

Body language: I still did a weak body language this time. It is so annoying because that gives me a difficulty to delivery messages to audiences. I think, I will read research some body language methods and use them while I am practicing my speeches at home, and also listen to advices from others, such as, friends, teachers and family. b. Eye contact: it is still a big issue for me to work on. I am a perfectionist, Thus I wish I can look at every audiences' face and observe what are their reaction for my speaking and adjust my way of motivation right away, I wish I can do that one day in communication class. Again, old method, speak in front of a small group of people (smaller than our class) or a person, than ask their opinion after. I actually do this option before. I need more. c.

My words: I don't think my sentences strong enough to make audiences laugh or feel funny. This is the new problem I come out with after this speech. I feel like I should pick a funnier, novelty topic to get audiences attention at the first time. Anyways, that not the main point, I need to come out with more strong word and add them into sentences.
13. Describe, in detail, the areas you will improve your public speaking and exactly how you will improve. Include a variety of specific steps you will take to improve your public speaking skills. As I wrote in above, I should focus on three parts: eye contact, body language, and the sentence. ,that sound a lot of works. So, I will plan to train the body language part and the eye contact part together. The sentence part isn't as much work as the other two. The key is the outline, spend more time on the outlining step than before, I guess, that would be the way that I will go through after. But the first two are the key parts of the entire speech quality.
