Front Porch New Flavor Competition with Johnson & Wales University OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES Create a new

Southern-inspired ice cream flavor for Front Porch ice cream, made locally by Mooresville Ice Cream Company. QUALIFYING ROUND 1. Front Porch will launch the Front Porch New Flavor Competition exclusively for Johnson & Wales University (JWU) students. Mooresville Ice Cream Company will host a Contest Sampling Kickoff on Friday, March 9, 2012 from 12:00P.M.-2:00P.M. in the Quad on JWU campus with all interested student chefs. There students will be able to learn about Front Porch brand, sample actual Front Porch flavors that are currently available for purchase at supermarkets, obtain competition details, and ask any questions. 2. Entrants will submit a recipe typed and sent via email to contest@enjoyfrontporch.com of their own new Southern-inspired flavor of Front Porch ice cream. The flavor submitted cannot be a current Front Porch flavor. The entrant must consider ice cream production specifications. In this round, entrants may submit as many recipes as they would like, however the entrant will only have the opportunity to win once. Submissions must be from individuals and not groups. Recipe entry email must include the following: a) Creative flavor name e.g., Nanas Banana Pudding b) Final ingredients (with measurements) c) Preparation instructions (list steps) d) Short description of flavor (10 words or less) e.g., Creamy Banana Ice Cream with Crisp Vanilla Wafers

e) Short description of how it is a Southern-inspired flavor (50 words or less) e.g., You want to know why people from the South are so happy? Two words: banana pudding. Our version of this quintessential southern dessert features rich, creamy banana ice cream and loads of crispy vanilla wafers. The flavor is

so authentic; it will rival your Nanas version. f) First and last name, email address, and contact phone number 3. The entrant must sign a waiver releasing rights to Mooresville Ice Cream Company to use the recipe(s) as they see fit. The waiver should be submitted in the 3rd floor culinary office at JWU, open daily from 9:00 AM-2:00 PM. Entries via email that are not accompanied by a signed paper waiver will NOT be considered in judging. JUDGING ROUND 1. All recipes submitted by email with accompanying waiver on file will be judged by a panel of JWU professors, Mooresville Ice Cream Company and Concentric Marketing. Judging for recipe competition will be based on use of ingredients and adhering to production guidelines, originality, name and descriptions and connection of flavor/recipe to Southern flavors. The top ten (10) recipes selected of those received will move on to the next round where the entrant will create their recipes. 2. Each finalist will have the opportunity to meet with JWU Chef John Maas, Assistant Professor, individually to consult on their recipe. 3. Each of the 10 finalists will be given a cash budget of up to $50.00 to use for sourcing ingredients and will create their recipe using the JWU kitchen facilities. 4. Finalists will enter their actual ice cream for the tasting and final judging live by a panel of JWU professors, Mooresville Ice Cream Company, and a retailer VIP on May 4, 2012 at 12:00 P.M. Judging for final competition that day will be based on texture, appearance, taste, and connection of flavor/recipe to Southern flavors. One Grand Prize winner and two Runners Up will be announced live. 5. Mooresville Ice Cream Company will unveil the three winners new Front Porch flavor names and packaging; the flavors will be released to the public for purchase. Front Porch New Flavor Competition OFFICIAL CONTEST FAQs 1. How many recipes can I submit? You may submit as many recipes as youd like, however you will only have the opportunity to win once. 2. Can I write out my recipe instead of submitting it via email? Unfortunately, no, you may not submit a handwritten recipe. We will only accept recipes via email to contest@enjoyfrontporch.com. 3. Can I submit a recipe with my friend? Unfortunately, due to the nature of the prize awarded, only individuals will be qualified to win. 4. What if I cant be at the Contest Kickoff Sampling? We hope that you are able to attend the Contest Kickoff Sampling held on March 9th from 12:00 P.M. - 2:00 P.M. in the Quad because not only will you get to taste Front Porch ice cream and learn about the brand, which will be extremely applicable to judging of submissions, but in person we can answer any questions you have about the contest. However, if you cannot attend, you are entirely qualified to still enter a recipe and win. 5. Can a finalist win more than one prize? No. A finalist may only win once. 6. What kind of recipe can I make? You will be judged based on how the new flavor fits into the Front Porch brand of Southerninspired flavors. Visit www.enjoyfrontporch.com to learn about all of the current flavors of Front Porch ice cream. You need to submit a recipe for a flavor that is not currently a Front Porch flavor, or variation thereof. 7. What ingredients can I use in my recipe? Is there a limit on preparation? You must consider mass production and manufacturing of the product, as well as the general publics interest in the flavor. The winners recipes will be turned into actual Front Porch flavors that will be sold in grocery stores. 8. Do I need to make my recipe? If you are chosen as one of the top 10 finalists, you will need to make your recipe in the JWU kitchen.

Where do I get a waiver form? Do I have to sign one? You can ONLY get and fill out the required waiver on the 3rd floor culinary office at JWU, open daily from 9:00 AM-2:00 PM. A signed copy of the waiver MUST be on file to be qualified to win in the top 10 finalist round and the finalist round. 13. What are the official rules of the contest? I lost my copy - where can I get another? Who is this open to? Who is allowed to enter? Only current students at Johnson & Wales University are qualified to enter and win. 15. Where can I see all the Front Porch flavors? WAIVER RECIPE RELEASE For valuable consideration received, I (undersigned) hereby grant to Mooresville Ice Cream Company, LLC (Company) the absolute and irrevocable right and unrestricted permission to use, re-use, display, distribute, transmit, publish, copy, or otherwise exploit, either in whole or in part, either digitally, in print, or in any other medium now or hereafter known, for any purpose whatsoever and without restriction, the following property (listed property) owned or created by me, or in which my labor be included; to alter the same without restriction; and to copyright the same. This agreement shall pertain to the following listed property: Entry into the Front Porch New Flavor Competition open to Johnson & Wales University students. This includes, but is not limited to entrants: recipe, name, descriptions, and actual ice cream product made. I understand and agree that Mooresville Ice Cream Company, LLC may or may not use my name in conjunction with the property as he or she so chooses.
