Individual Assignment 1
1 Specification
In this assignment, you are to carry out an information analysis of a flower shop information system (FSIS). Read the following system description, which contains the information requirements for FSIS, and complete the requirements in the next section. A small shop in Hanoi specialises in selling flowers to customers in the central and surrounding districts. The shop keeps the following basic flowers in stock: roses, sunflowers, lilies, and tulips. For each type, the shop records details about its name, colour, unit price, quantity in stock, and a unique flower number that is assigned to each sort. Unit price is the expected sales price of a flower and quantity in stock is the total number of flowers of each sort that are currently available in the shop. These data are recorded by a shop assistant after the flowers have been purchased from the suppliers. There are two types of sales item that the shop makes available for its customers: single flower and flower bouquet. A bouquet is composed of flowers from the same or different sorts. To help customers choose the bouquets, the shop records data about them. These include bouquet number, name, and unit price. In order to understand the customers needs better, the shop keeps track of all the customer details which include name, address, and phone number. A unique id is assigned to each customer as well. A customer may place an order for one or more sale items. To manage sales, the shop records data about every order, including a unique order id, the order date. In addition, the ordered quantity of each sales item is also recorded. An order also has a field to record the pick-up date in case the customer wants to place the order in advance. An order may be delivered to a recipient. In which case, however, delivery details must be kept, which include name, address, and phone number of the recipient and the delivery date.

2 Requirements
1. Develop an information model of the FSIS using the ER modelling technique. You must include in your model all the necessary diagrams and a data dictionary. Note: Do not model more elements than necessary to support the requirements. 2. Write a 2500-word report on the information model that you developed in the previous task (the word count does not include diagrams and references.) A better report would demonstrate a higher level of understanding of the ER modelling process and how it is applied to FSIS.
