ProgramOverview TheGangReductionandYouthDevelopment(GRYD)Programisacomprehensivegangviolence reductionprogram.TheGRYDofficeaimstoeffectivelyreducegangrelatedviolenceinspecific geographicregionsthroughtheapplicationofprimaryprevention,secondaryprevention,and interventionstrategies. TheSummerNightLights(SNL)programisonecomponentoftheGRYDcomprehensive strategy.SNLintegratesprevention,intervention,andcommunityengagementcomponentsto addressviolenceinneighborhoodsadjacenttoparksacrossthecity;throughtheprovisionof extendedlatenightprogrammingbetweenthehoursof7p.m.tomidnight,4daysaweek, throughthesummermonths. PreferredQualifications: Previous work experience with SNL and/or have completed their Bachelors Degree or Degreeinhumanservicesrelatedfieldand/oraminimumoftwoyearsofprofessional work experience in a related position. Flexible Fulltime availability from June to September; Strong Leadership, Management, Communication, organizational, administrative and timemanagementskills; Ability to work with diverse populations, problem solve, and work in a collaborative manner; Abilitytobeflexibleandmanagehighstresssituationsinacalmandeffectivemanner; Abilitytoworkaspartofateamthatincludesyouth,citydepartments,community organizations,communitypeacemakers,andlawenforcement; Must have a valid drivers license, proof of insurance and reliable transportation for programrelatedtravel(positioniseligibleformileagereimbursement); WorkingknowledgeofMicrosoftOfficeanddailyaccesstopersonalemailaccount. Mustbeabletostandforlongperiodsoftimeandcarryaminimumof15lbs.

DutiesResponsibilities: AssistSNLRegionalManagerswithallaspectsofSNLprogramservicedeliveryincludingbutnotlimited to;

Responsible for the management of SNL site location, which includes program and logistical implementation policies, partnerships, as well as supervision and support of SNL seasonal site coordination team members. (Youth Squad Supervisor, Community OutreachSpecialist,LeadYouthSquad,andYouthSquad); Assess individual, group, family, and community participation and develop plans to increase/maintainparticipation; LeadorassistinthedevelopmentandfacilitationofSNLWorkGroup; CollaborateandcommunicateeffectivelywithGRYDstaffmembersaswellasavariety of SNL partners that include law enforcement, city departments, local government officials,andcommunitybasedorganizations. Attend various meetings including GRYD/SNL meetings, Site Staff meetings, Regional SNLSitemeetingsandWorkGroupmeetings; Assist in the daily set up and break down of program activities and equipment, which requiresmanual,laborintensivework. Assist in developing and implementing an outreach plan to inform local community residentsabouttheSNLprogram.
