PREFACE
We have a great treasure of knowledge in the form of
Vedas. Some people argue that if indeed the vedas are
treasure troves of science, then why no indian scientist has
extracted such information and publicized the facts prior to
the announcement of their discovery by Modern science.
probably, such efforts were not made because the vedic
scholars are not familiar with science and scientists are
ignorant of vedic knowledge. That discussion with our
friends and family members, which took place one evening
in 2004,enkindled out interest in vedas and inspired us to
work on this project. we express our earnest thanks to all
those that have encouraged us to pursue this project further.
This is widely acknowledged as the age of science.
Modern world believes that it alone of all ages possess
advanced scientific knowledge. The primary basis for that
belief is that accumulation of knowledge is progressive
and always grows with the passage of time,. But it is reallly
surprising to find that Rgvedia chants contain scientific
theories in areas like Quarks, Atomic and subatomic
particles, and creation of universe, which are not only
superior and richer in detail as opposed to the Modern
Scientific Theories, but also contain knowledge in some
cases like super space technology that is beyond the
imagination of modern scientists. Unlike the current scientific
theories that are partial and flawed like big-bang theory.
vedas provide alternate theories that are complete in all
respects. Our main objective is to strive, to seek, to find
and to biring out the hidden science in vedas and compare
V
it with the modern science. It is really a daring step to take
up self motivated research work on vedas. perhaps, it is
gods grace that we have been provided with the means,
motive and focus to work towards our goal with renewed
vigor. we humbly pray to god to seek his blessings. It will
be very fulfilling if our work kindles similar inspiration in
even a single a scholar to persue further research on vedic
science we invite precious suggestions and guidance from
the learned scholars.

FOREWORD
Dr. K. Saraswathi, M.Sc., Ph.D.
Retd. Professor in Chemistry
Sri Venkateswara University
Tirupathi
I Congratulate Mrs. Arjuna Devi and Dr. Sakamuri
Sivaram Babu for digging out our inherent and inherited
knowledge of science from Vedas, Both of them have no
background of such education, one being an English
teacher and the other the modern science (Chemistry)
practitioner. They have brought out the invaluable sacred
writings of our Hindus and interpreted the science that was
already there in Vedas. The modern scientists are naming
their findings as Inventions. Our children are exposed to
such incomplete knowledge of science and living in the
materialistic world with continuous changes and negative
consequencs. They are not taught the hidden wealth of our
sacred writings. Unfortunately, even we, elders have no
knowledge of our own background. Probably our ignorance
of Vedas is because they are not well documented and
circulated. Also, because we have no knowledge of Sanskrit
language which had used for writing the Vedas. So, they
are in the hands of very few. This barrier kept all of us in
dark about already existing hidden science of our sacred
volumes.
This book brings our many scientific interpretations of
vedas especially Rigveda. Some of these interpretations
are going to be challenge to future scientists because the
VII
.
visualisations of Vedic Sages are beyond Scientists
imagination. Do our children know about it ? Their own
roots ?
The Sakamuri pair has finally compared both the
patterns (Veda and Modern) and exposed the missing links
in modern science.
The patience and the earnest involvement of the
Sakamuris to lighten the young minds with our Indian
strengths and treasures is appreciable.
I pray Lord Venkateswara to give this couple full strength
to bring out such hidden treasures and show the world
particularly of our Indian origin that our Vedas are base for
any findings and our science is ultimate for any human race
on earth.

INTRODUCTION
Cosmology is the branch of astronomy that deals with
the overall structure and evolution of the physical universe.
Although cosmological spectrum is older than civilization,
modern development dates from the second decade of the
20th century. On the theoretical side, Einsteins general
theory of relativity (E=mc
2
), the general theory of gravitation
made possible the first self-consistant description of an
unbounded self-gravitating medium. On the observable
side, studies of stellar population is one of the many
comparable systems (galaxies) sprinkled through out a
region whose known size is limited only by the light recoding
power of astronomical telescopes.
The root word for Veda is vid which means knowledge.
So, vedic science means scientific knowledge. The
scientific meaning of Vedas is very different from what
modern science says. The cosmology of Vedas is
completely different from modern cosmologies. Without
understanding Vedic cosmology, the Vedas would seem
meaningless. Once we understand that the Rgveda is a
book of cosmology, then it becomes clear that the ancient
science was gradually forgotten overtime. When we read
Vedas carefully, we wonder about the meaning of each term
we encountered. So, it is clear that Vedas are not dealing
with primitive intelligence, as all the history books declare.
It also becomes clear that the Vedic sages had discovered
the subtle nature of reality, and coded in the form of Vedas.
1
.
When we study ancient truths and compare them with
the concepts of modern science, we should not lose right
of the fact that most of the concepts of modern science are
actually assumptions that are not validated by facts. Black
holes, curved space-time, the big-bang theory, gravitational
radiation, the Cosmic strings are all hypothetical objects
conjured up in certain theories. A black hole, for example,
implies infinity density and therefore can not be physically
real. It is referred to as singularity in the theory. Singularity
is some thing that the theorists recognize as a failure of the
theory.
As another example is the general theory of relativity.
Einstein takes gravitational field as identical to acceleration
field. In the case of uniform field this does not give rise to
any difficulty. However, in the case of non-uniform fields,
like those of the planets, no mathematical jugglery can
create an acceleration field that is identical to the geometry
of the gravitational field. It is this geometrical difficulty that
made Einstein to adopt the idea that space is curved. But it
has never been independently verified whether space could
be curved or how mass engendess this curvature.
So, I am of the strong opinion that modern science is
not the only way to investigate the ultimate reality.

CREATION - ANNIHILATION
An according to modern Physics matter and energy can
be converted into each other. It was given by Einstein Law
of Mass - Energy Equivalence as E=mc
2
. Modern Physics
tells us that there is continuous creation and annihilation of
particles every where in the universe. Matter Particles
transform into energy and energy transforms into matter
particles. But it does not tell us much about the stages in
between the transformation of matter particles and energy
into each other, so far quark model telling about the point
particles also not established well because modern science
reached the limits due to singularities. Singularity represents
infinity which is conceptually meaningless.
The Rgveda is the celebration and manifestation of
Universe. It describes the evolution of the cosmos. Vedic
Science accepted the continuous conversion of matter and
energy into each other. It tells us clearly about the point
particles (Bindu Kanas) and about the different stages in
the transformation of point particles into energy and Vice
Versa. According to Vedic Science.
E I m
Energy Intermediate matter
Actually Vedic sages have seen what ever can be seen
in the universe. Vedic scientists gave the name pasu to
whatever could be seen.
3
Particles : (Pasu)
In Vedas the word used for particle is Pasu. Pasu is
derived from the root word, Pas which means to see.
The common meaning of Pasu is animal. But Vedic
meaning for Pasu is visible or observable. Thats why the
particle that can be seen is named as Pasu in Vedas. It is
clearly mentioned in Satapatha Brahmana 6.2.1.1-4.
Praja Pati saw Agni in those Pasus, therefore they
are called Pasus.
Angi is energy. This mantra clearly shows the
Equivalence of Pasu (Particle) and Agni (energy). There
are several mantras in vedic scriptures to this effect.
Yajurveda 23.17 Agni was Pasu.
Taittiriya Bhahmana 1.1.4.5 Pasus are Agneya.
The transformation of matter particles into energy and
energy into particles is well established by these mantras.
How Particles Originate ?
The Purusa hymn describes the origin of particles
(Pasus) in Rgveda 10.90.8.
From that Yajna curd, butter was obtained. From that,
Vayavya, Aranya and Gramya Pasus were born.
Milk is homogeneous. Curd and butter are heterogeneous.
From milk the formation of curd, butter means the
conversion of homogeneous energy into heterogeneous.
From that, pasus were born means particles are produced
by the condensation of energy. Particles are given the name
pasu because they could be seen.
4
Animals have been classified as Gramya, Aranya and
Vayavya. Gramya animals are those animals which stay
together. Grama means a place where people live together.
So, we can come to the conclusion that Gramya Pasus
are particles which prefer to stay together. Scientists call
them as Bosons.
Aranya animals are those wild animals which prefer to
stay alone. So, Aranya pasus are particles which prefer to
stay alone. Scientists call them as Fermions. Similarly
Vayavya particles are field particles.
Scientists are under the concept that particles interact
via the exchange of field particles. For example
Electromagnetic interaction takes place by the exchange
of photons. Vedic scientists realised this thousands of years
ago what scientists are beginning to realise only now.
Gramya Pasus :
Gramya Pasus are further divided into four types as
mentioned in Rgveda 10.90.10 hymn.
From that Asva (horses) were born, who have teeth
on bothsides. Gau (cows), Avi (Sheep) and Aja (goats) were
born.
Asva :
Asva means horse. According to Yaskas Nirukta
Asnute Adhvanam.
This means the name AsVa is given because of its
propagation and fast speed. Asva doesnot mean horse in
Vedas. It becomes clear by examining the following hymn
dedicated to Asva in Rgveda 1.163.
5
Sage : Dirghatama Augasthya
Deity : Asva
Metre : Tristupa
From the hymn it is clear that it is certainly no ordinary
horse. It is the description of Asva particle precisely. Our
Sages described it as a flying horse. In verse one the wings
are mentioned.
Verse One :
When you roared springing from sea or land after birth,
your great birth is worthy of praise you have wings of eagle
and arms of deer.
There is no flying horse having wings in reality. Flying
is the character of quark particles in modern science. So
Asva can be considered as one of the quark particles.
Verse Two :
This horse was given by Yama. Trita harnessed it, Indra
captured him first and Gandharva held its reins. Vasus
made this horse from sun.
In verse two Asva is associated with Trita. Trita means
1/3, Modern scientists recently found that quarks carry 1/3
charge. So calling Asva by the name Trita means Asva
particle carries one third charge.
Verse Three :
You are Yama, you are Aditya, you are Trita by a hidden
act, you are well associated with Soma. You have three
bindings in heaven it is said.
Verse three tells that Asva is hidden. In modern science
it was found that quark particles cannot be observed in
6
..
isolation. Vedic sages clearly know this. So they mentioned
that Asva is hidden.
Verse Eleven :
O horse, your body is made for flying, your mind is
rapid as wind. Your beautiful horns are placed in various
ways and travel in forests.
In verse eleven, the horns of horse are referred. Horses
dont have horns. This description was deliberate to
distinguish Asva as a particle but not simply the animal
horse.
Verse Twelve :
Strong horse goes for slaughtering meditating upon
the gods. His navel, goat is led ahead, praisers and poets
follow him.
Verse Twelve clearly describes horse sacrifice. In Vedas
sacrifice means transformation. So it is the transformation
of Asva particle into energy. That is why Asva is supposed
to go to gods. In Vedas gods are various forms of energy.
In this verse it is also mentioned that Aja is the centre of
Asva. This clealy indicates that Asva particle is formed
from Aja. Scientifically this signifies that before
transformation into energy Asva particle becomes Aja.
Thus,
Energy Aja Asva
Gau :
Gau means cow.
According to Yaskas Nirukta
So Api Gauruchyate
7
This means the name Gau is given because it
represents the ray of moonlight. In Brahmapurana there is
an interesting story regarding the origin of Gau. This story
tells that adi Sakti (Primary energy) takes the form of Gau.
From this, it is clear that energy is converted into Gau
particle. This becomes clear by examining the hymn
dedicated to Gau from Rgveda 10.169.
Verse Two :
Some cows are of the same colour. Some cows have
different colours while some are of identical colour. Yajna
Agni knows the cows. They are on Prdvi as a result of the
Tapas of Angirasa.
In the second verse of the hymn different colours of the
Gaus are described.
Modern scientists gave the name colour to describe
the variations of quark particles. It is amazing to notice that
Vedic sages also came up with the same idea of colour to
distinguish quark particles.
Indra creates white milk in black and red cows
Rgveda 1.62.9.
So, the colours describe different variations of the Gau
particles.
Verse Three :
Cows sacrifice themselves in the Yajna of Gods. Soma
gets strengthened by this. Indra filled the cows with milk
and send them to our sheds (gostha).
In verse three sacrifice of Gau in Yajna is described. As
we know already in Vedas the sacrifice refers to
8
.
.
.
transformation and gods refer to different forms of energy,
here the transformation of Gau particle into energy is
described. It also reveals the association of Gau with Soma
and Indra. In post-vedic period the real meaning of Gau is
forgotten.
In Rgveda 7.36.1 Gau is interpreted as suns rays. In
9.10.3. Gau is said to be mixed with Soma. In 1.164.41
Gaus having one, two, four, eight or nine legs are mentioned.
In 10.62.7 Gau is called as astakarni that is having eight
ears. These verses are not describing an ordinary animal
but they are describing Gau particle. In vedic cosmology
Gau particle has a very special place.
Rgveda 10.46.3 says that Trita found Agni on the head
of cow. This means that Gau particle possesses 1/3 charge
and can be transformed into energy.
Energy Gau
Avi :
Avi means Sheep.
In yajurveda 23.11 the following question is raised. what
object is Pilipila?
The answer is given in 23.12
Avi is Pilipila.
Pilipila is a thing which is very soft and can be pressed
very easily. Avi particle is a soft particle and dense field -
lines are coming out of it. Hence describing Avi particle as
sheep is appropriate. According to Maitrayani samhita
4.57.7. Avi is described in three colours red, white and black.
9
.
.
.
Thus vedic sages not only observed the Gramya pasus
which are nothing but quark particles but also measured
their properties as well.
Aja :
Aja means goat.
In Svetas vatara Upanishad 4.5 Aja is said to be of
three colours red, white and black creating various objects
of its own form.
Adharva Veda 9.5.7. savs that Aja is Agni
9.5.13 Verse says that
Aja was born from soka of Agni and he saw Agni first.
Gods became gods due to Aja.
From these mantras it is clear that Agni and Aja converts
into each other.
Agni Aja
Agni means one that leads. Related word is Agra. In
scientific terminology Agni is energy.
Satapatha Brahmana 6.5.14 syas that
Aja is the form of all animals.
In yajurveda 23.11 the following question is raised.
What object is Pisangila?
The answer is given in 23.12
Night is Pis angila.
In 23.56 it is said that
Aja is pisangila who like a dog gets things out and
devours it again.
10
So it is evident that Aja and Pasus convert into each
other.
Aja Pasus
Thus the Gramya particles Asva, Gau, Avi are born
from Aja which is born from Agni and vice versa.
Agni Aja Gramya Pasus
(energy) (Intermediate step) (Quark Particles)
Aja has been described as having only one foot is
Rgveda 7.35.13. There is no goat having only one foot.
This is again further proof of Aj a being an intermediate
step between energy and matter particles.
Once the particle is formed completely, it is referred to
as an animal having four feet.
Agni is described as having no foot in Rgveda 1.2.7.
Thus unmanifested energy is described as having no foot,
Partially manifested localised energy (intermediate stage)
is described as having one foot and completely manifested
energy is described as animal having four feet (particle).
Once-born : (Ekaja)
Aja means not born. Sometimes Aja is referred as Ekaja
which means once born. As Aja is the intermediate step
between the transformation of energy into particles, Aja can
be considered as localised energy. Aja is almost like energy.
That is why it was given the name not-born. Ekaja means
once-born. It is the first manifested energy as particle.
Thus,
11

Vedic View

So, According to Vedic Science,

From the above table clearly we notice the major
difference, that is quarks are considered as point particles
where as Gramya particles are said to be derived from Aja
particle. This means that further simplification in the quark
12

.
model will give rise to the real picture of creation and
annihilation.
Trilokas :
If we accept the modern view, the universe is divided
into two, that is Energy and Matter, without any interphase.
The most important concept of the Vedas is the
triparticle division of the Universe into Prthivi (earth),
Antariksa (inter phase) and Dyau (heaven). Each of them
is called a Loka.
Thus the Universe is Triloka. Prthivi means broad and
extended, Antariksa means existing between, Dyau means
bright.
The Satapatha Brahmana 7.1.2.23 says :
These lokas were together in the beginning, Earth and
heaven then separated and the space between them
becomes Antariksa.
Tittiriya upanisad. 1.3.1. says :
Antariksa is the junction of Prthivi and Dyau .
The most sacred Gayatri mantra is
Om Bhur Bhuvah Swah
This clearly mentioned the three lokas.
These lokas were formed not because the universe was
divided into three, but because it was divided into two with
an interphase. Scientists are divided on this. Gibbs
considers the interphase as an imaginary plane dividing
the two phases. Guggenheim considers the interphase to
be a separate phase and assigns all the properties to an
13
.
interphase that a phase can have. This is in agreement
with the Vedic concept.
Trisira Visvarupa :
Trisira Visvarupa, a seal from Indusvally is shown
below.
Trisira means three headed and Visvarupa means
shape of the Universe. The three heads of the Universe
represents three lokas prthivi, Antariksa and Dyau. The
above figure shows Trisira Visvarupa as found on a seal
of the Indus Valley Civilization. Some scholars tried to
explain the three heads as one head in three different
positions. This explanation is the result of their considering
Indus Valley people different from the Vedic people. One
can easily observe that the three heads are different
representing three different lokas.
Siva Tandavam :
Creation and annihilation is a continuous process. Every
where in the universe this process is going on. The vedic
sages envisaged this process as a cosmic dance of creation.
Us a is represented as dancer. Later it is represented as
the Cosmic dance of Lord Siva who is also called Nataraja.
This dance is the creation and annihilation of matter and
anti matter.
14
.
It is wonder that modern scientists described the
movements of flying quark particles is like an amazing
dance.
Thus Vedic Science and modern Science both tell us
that there is a continuous dance of creation and annihilation
of particles every where in the universe. In Hindu mythology
it is described as Siva Tandavam. The philosophy behind
this is the transformation of matter particles into energy
and energy into matter particles. This creation - annihilation
of energy has a very special place in the Cosmology of
Rgveda.
CONCLUSION :
As matter and antimatter are created and annihilated
in pair, according to the standard models of cosmology there
should be matter and antimatter in the universe. However,
our universe seems to be matter dominated. Where is the
corresponding antimatter ? Scientists have found no
evidence of antimatter dominated regions in the universe.
15
.
16
Considering that Einstein Big-Bang model has been in
existance for 70 years, and so many brilliant scientists have
worked to solve these problems, why is it that the problems
refuse to go away. The question to ask then is if not the
Big-Bang. then what ? The only real challenger to Big-Bang
model is the steady state Model. But it has fallen out of
favour after the discovery of cosmic background radiation.
I am of the strong belief that the problems faced by
different models of modern cosmology can be solved by
the Vedic model of cosmology. The rise and fall of Indians
is connected to the rise and fall of Vedic science. Scientists
every where in the world are following the spirit of Vedic
science with out even realising it.
By the study of creation-annihilation itself it is clear that
Vedic cosmology is far ahead of modern theories about
cosmology. Vedic science is a vast treasure of knowledge.
The more you dig, the more you get. What we want is the
code to Vedas. With the known revealed secrets in hand
let us proceed to strive, to seek and to find the ultimate
realities. To achieve it the young minds of India has to work
incessantly with determination as Lord Krishna Preached
in the Gita.
Did Vedas contain a theory superior to Einstein
Big-Bang Theory ?
The answer to this question is the forthcoming book
