June will bring the BANI Golf Outing and we want your team as one of our teams, so line it up now! Lets talk about the March Membership Meeting! Our guest speaker for the evening is president of the Indiana Builders Association, Will Wright. Will may be a little flighty, but once he settles in, Im 100% sure his program for the evening will be very informative and one you should be sure not to miss. Wills brother Orv, unfortunately, cant make the trip with him. Normally, the two are inseparable , but something popped up with Orvs copyright infringement suit against some guy named Rickenbacker and he had to go check it out. In the meantime, Will has been flying around the state delivering the IBA message in plane English for all to understand. He has developed a two-phase attack on two different levels for his year as president, he calls it the bi=planar approach to governing... be sure to ask him about it. Members!!!!! Always keep in mind: This Association will only be what YOU make of it. Get involved! Network! Educate yourself! And have some fun!!!!! By the way, Congratulations to the winners of the Valentines Day Membership Meeting Chick Flick Trivia Contest - U guys are awesome examples of well rounded members!

Home Lumber of New Haven, Inc. was founded in 1957. Now in its third generation of ownership by the Korte family, Home Lumber has grown to be one of the largest building material providers in Northeast Indiana by clinging to the idea of family. It starts internally. We work hard to treat every employee like part of the family, and in turn they strive to treat all customers in the same manor. The result is a higher level of customer service that many of our competitors simply cant match.
In terms of products, Home Lumber of New Haven provides framing lumber, engineered lumber, roofing, siding, Andersen and Eagle windows, Jeld Wen windows, exterior doors, exterior decking, drywall, interior doors and millwork, fireplaces, and garage doors. In addition, Home Lumber offers certified and professionally trained installation service for windows, exterior doors, siding, decks, fireplaces, garage doors. Although our primary focus is serving professional home builders, we are happy to serve individual home owners as well.
Although our official name remains Home Lumber of New Haven, we are proud to serve all of Northeast Indiana with local lumberyard service. In fact, for some of us Steuben County is home. We are also proud of our membership and participation in BANI to support the home building industry in this area.

Indiana Quality Assurance Builder Standards What QABS means for you, the consumer: The Indiana Quality Assurance Standards provide new homebuyers and remodeling customers a way to measure their builder and the project against an industry approved set of standards. These Standards create a series of performance standards builders and customers can use to communicate and understand each other's expectations regarding building/remodeling projects. The Standards address the most prevalent issues that arise between the builder and the customer before the project, during the project, and most importantly, after the project is completed. All too often it is the unrealized or undiscovered expectations that create the majority of problems encountered in the building/remodeling process. The Standards will help eliminate these problems before the project even begins. What QABS means for you, the builder: One objective of the Association is to improve the community image of the industry. Towards that objective, the builders association offers you the Indiana Quality Assurance Builder Standards. The program includes a set of standards, recommended language for including the standards and mediation/binding arbitration of the standards into project contracts, and marketing information. The Standards create reasonable customer expectations regarding the building/remodeling process, and address the most prevalent issues that arise before the project, during the project, and, most importantly, after the projected is completed. The Standards eliminate the unrealized and undisclosed expectations of the customer by giving the builder/remodeler a tool to discuss, identify, and set the customer's expectations before problems arise. Yet, disputes will inevitably arise that cannot be settled between the two parties using the Standards. With that in mind, the Standards also includes a mediation/binding arbitration mechanism to provide another vehicle to dispute resolution outside the costly and time-consuming court process. Let the consumer know you are a part of the network of quality builders. Include the Indiana Quality Assurance Builder logo in print, television and radio advertising, and promote your membership with the association in press releases and brochures.
