Winter 2012 Prayer letter

Next Stop? "Follow Me."

It has always been about those two words. My walk with the Lord started as simple as that "Follow Me" are Jesus' famous words to His disciples. Many aspire ministries, positions, programs or simply helping the people, but in effect God just desires our obedience. Where there is no obedience, you cannot claim to love God (John 14:15,21,24, 1 John 2:3-6). However, obedience is costly. For Jesus, His obedience led Him to the cross. My obedience led me to the Philippines instead of my home Switzerland. Nothing could have prepared me for what God has called me to do here. In my prayers, I sensed the Lord leading me to start homes for street children, but it seems He is also showing and teaching me some other things in the process. One stage of life seems to always be a preparation for the next stage. The Philippines is the most Christianized country in Asia, yet it is also the most corrupt. God is showing me however, that there is hope Hope in the Church. Every church standing alone can win a battle in and around their area, but for the Philippines to change, all churches has to stand as one. The way Jesus intended it to be. God has planted me in a strategic place in the Philippines. By divine leading, I was able to join an alliance of pastors from different denominations. The group is involved in serving their provinceboth in governmental and educational facilitiesin what is called the "Moral Recovery Program". Their main text book is the Bible! Every week they are conducting Bible studies and similar programs for schools are underway. What a privilege and so promising! When we become faithful stewards of this movement, the Philippines can shine the Light for the rest of the world to see! Fast Facts: Facts: 7,250 islands, of which over 700 are inhabited. High population growth, widespread corruption, protectionism, social and political unrest and a series of natural disasters have played havoc with the economy, perpetuating widespread poverty and unemployment. Massive gaps between rich and poor continue. A Spanish colony from 1565 to 1898, hence the Catholic majority and many Spanish customs. Ruled by the USA until independence in 1946. Freedom of religion. The Catholic Church wields enormous influence, but emerging independent and Protestant groups exert increasing influence on social and political issues as well. The Muslim minority in Mindanao seeks to set up an independent Islamic state in the south.

For All The Peoples

Isaiah speaks in chapter 56 about a place which God has prepared not only for the Jews but also the "foreigners" who trust in Him. In verse 7 God says, "Even those (the foreigners) I will bring to My holy mountain And make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be acceptable on My altar; For My house will be called a house of prayer for all the peoples." Even Jesus mentions the House of Prayers in the Gospel narratives, however in a sad context (Mark 11:17). The religious people have turned this Holy place into a market place. We would like to see a place here in our area, where God will find our through prayerthe seeking and calling out for God's almighty presence on earth to move. If the "Moral Recovery Program" or "My Father's House" or any other project should be successful, than only by the Spirit of God. Many of us are excited about this as it is to be a place where not only all peoples / nationalities are to meet and cry out to God, but also all Christian denominations can intercede in unity for the spiritual and physical welfare of His elect in this nation and the whole world. worship and prayers acceptable. How else can we get anything done, if not May God be with us.

My Father's House
Although the house is standing and almost fully furnished, we still have much to do with the registration and other bureaucracies that along with other systems in place are very time-consuming. However, since God wants these things done, He is sending us godly women and men willing to sacrifice some of their time and work to help us out. So far, we were blessed with an attorney, a social worker, pastors, teachers, a government official all who are helping us now. Our goal is to be able to accommodate six to eight former street children by May or June in order for them to be ready and enter an educational program in September. Besides all that, we are looking for workers who will fill the necessary spots, preferably people from the local church. Let me rephrase that, we are asking God to send us workers (Matt. 9:38) for He knows what we need more than we do. He always does

Prayer List
We thank the Lord for the following blessings and answered prayers: We are grateful to God for the opportunity to serve the Filipino community in Canlubang and the province of Laguna. Praise God for the women and men who God placed in our lives to help us in the paperwork for the children's home and House of Prayer. God is wonderful. We are enjoying great fellowships with new friends. My dream of having a dog ever since I was a teenager has now come to pass. Thank You, Father Join us in prayer for the following: We are working with many people of many denominations. Please pray for unity within the Body of Christ. Many seek to fight on their own, but God is not at all in favor of division and independent ministries (1 Cor. 1:12-13). We need all the help we can get and there is no better resource than from within our own family. It seems the House of Prayer we are building is an answered prayer for some and needed facility in this area according to others. Please pray that most importantly the House of Prayer will be acceptable in the sight of the Lord (Isa. 56:7) und thus our prayers within answered. Please pray for a married Christian couple preferably without children willing to live with the kids in the children's home and take in the role of so-called "house parents" for an indefinite time. Please pray for our collaboration with the Baptist church in this area to be fruitful and that nothing and nobody can spawn division into this wonderful relationship. Please pray for the ministries I am helping out in my spare time (see pictures and captions on side panel). The harvest is plenty and the workers are truly few. My mother and I help the Christian community where we can. Please pray for the spiritual and physical health of my mother, our helpers and me so that we can continue this great work from the Lord that lies ahead of us. We already praise God for these (answered) prayers!

And don't be concerned about what to eat and what to drink. Don't worry about such things. These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers all over the world, but your Father already knows your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and He will give you everything you need.
