Vegetation across China is mostly improved from last year (blues), particularly over the winter wheat provinces of Jiangsu (10%), Henan (20%), Hubei (4%) and Anhui (8%). The greatest producing province, Shandong (21%) shows variable conditions, as do the SW provinces of Shanxi (3%) and Sichan(7%),

Subsurface soil moisture is widespread supportive of vegetation across China as shown by the green shading (above). Wheat growing regions of N Central China and portions of the SW and S, too show excellent subsurface moisture. Areas in Shandong are less than 100mm (not supportive) of subsurface moisture while surrounding areas of Shandong, Jiangsu, Anhui and Henan (winter wheat belt of China) has excellent sub-surface conditions.
Snow covers western and northern China with runoff and widespread on-going spring rains (snow in north and far west) being further supporting of soil moisture conditions, not only in the Yangtze River Basin but NE China region too.

The next two weeks remains active and wet across most of south, central and west China, Even the NE sees additional snow, with potentially far northern areas seeing 1/2 to 1+ foot over the next two weeks. The Yangtze Basin sees 510 inches of rain.
