0 Methodology of the study

y The person responsible for the task are Jefferson Dayola, Emely Goltiano, Jonabelle Macato, and Melisa Balagasay.Emely and Jonabelle is the one who write down the information and do some research for the documentation and for the system. While Jefferson and Melisa are the one who type the documents and give some ideas too about the documentation and doing the system. For financial statement, we are all responsible on that and we are responsible on the entire documentation and doing the system. y The resource person to be contacted is Ms.Jeneth S. Trapela. She was the coowner of Baratilyo sa Deparo and the one we conducted interview. And also Monique Poblete, our classmate, shess the one we contact if ever we had an overnight to do our documentation and doing our system. y The type of methodology to be used is the SDLC or the System Development Life Cycle. It is a process of creating or altering information systems, and the models and methodologies that people use to develop these systems. y The date and time in which the activity took place: *January 06,2012- we conduct an interview at Baratilyo sa Deparo. *January 12,2012- we had an overnight at Moniques house to do our documentation which is the Chapter 1. *January 22,2012- an overnight again at Moniques house to try to make a design for our system using the visual basic and did the database for our system using the

The place where the activity was conducted was on Deparo,Caloocan, where we conduct an interview. And also at Camarin,Caloocan where Moniques house and the place of the computer shop that we had an overnight.

The reason for doing the activity is to pass our System Analysis and Design subject and to improve our skills in terms of doing a system and documents and expand more our knowledge.

Methodology of the study is the system of methods and principles used in a particular discipline.(Philosophy) the branch of philosophy concerned with the science of method and procedure. .It is the science of method or orderly arrangement and classification. Methodology can properly refer to the theoretical analysis of the methods appropriate to a field of study or to the body of methods and principles particular to a branch of knowledge.

The programmers choose the new version of SDLC or Systems Development Life Cycle model as our methodology of our study. Because its the easiest way of how we will process the computerized system. It is not time consuming especially in tight schedule. Its easy to access the errors and problems in certain stages without repeating it. Although there will be problems, its up to the developers to maintain these programs until these are decommissioned. If worst comes to worst and it has to go back to the drawing board, documentation will tell the developers where they

might have done it wrong. It also serves as a guide or guideline in developing a system. Software Development Life Cycle or SDLC is a model of a detailed plan on how to create, develop, implement and eventually fold the software. Its a complete plan outlining how the software will be born, raised and eventually be retired from its function. Although some of the models dont explicitly say how the program will be folded, its already common knowledge that software will eventually have its ending in a never ending world of change web, software and programming technology. The Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), or Software Development Life Cycle in Systems engineering, information systems and software engineering, is a process of creating or altering information systems, and the models

and methodologies that people use to develop these systems. In software engineering the SDLC concept underpins many kinds of software development methodologies. These methodologies form the framework for planning and controlling the creation of an information system: the software development process.

These are the stages of SDLC:

1. Project Planning, Feasibility study- It will answer the question of why

would a developer build a software. Without planning, the software may not be able to perform or function as planned and feasibility study makes sure the program created is needed and will be appealing to the intended users.

Project planning and feasibility studies are a stage where developers, project managers and research department will be working together. Developers will be the group who will be creating the software, project managers are the ones who makes sure the program will be done in time and the research department will show why an idea of software will work.

2. Systems Analysis, Requirements definition- Define project goals into

defined functions and operations of the intended application. Analyzes end-user information. It also develops user requirement and analyze user needs. It creates a detailed functional requirements document. Once the developers have determined the required software, it is time to analyze the type of software that could answer the problems encountered. System analysis will take a look at possible software. The goal of a system analysis is to know the properties and functions of software that would answer the concerns solicited from intended users. System Analysis would lead in determining the requirements needed in software. These requirements in software should be implemented otherwise the software may not answer the concerns or may lack in its usage. This stage will somehow determine how the software should function.

3. Systems design- Systems design is simply the design of systems. It implies a

systematic and rigorous approach to designan approach demanded by the scale and complexity of many systems problems.

2- 4

This stage has become relatively easier since there are already goals set for different developers. In this chapter, we will take a look the three types of design required to create software:

4. Implementation- Implementation is the realization of an application, or

execution of a plan, idea, model, design, specification, standard, algorithm, or policy. Implementation refers to post-sales process of guiding a client from purchase to use of the software or hardware that was purchased. This includes Requirements Analysis, Scope Analysis, Customizations, Systems Integrations, User Policies, User Training and Delivery. These steps are often overseen by a Project Manager using Project Management Methodologies set forth in the Project Management Body of Knowledge. Software Implementations involve several professionals that are relatively new to the knowledge based economy such as Business Analysts, Technical Analysts, Solutions Architect, and Project Managers. Once the three different types of designs are complete, it is time for the developers to put place them together. Although it has been tested while the designs were created, it is the final construction of the designs as they are combined by the project manager or the assigned developers.

5. Integration and Testing- It brings all the pieces together into a special testing
environment, then checks for errors, bugs, and interoperability. Integration and Testing also demonstrate that developed system conforms to requirements as specified in the functional requirement document. Conduct by quality assurance staff and users. It produces test analysis reports. Once the software is complete, it will go through rigorous testing before its actual integration. In this article we will take a look at different types of software testing and

also different types of integration. With the diversity of business setting and software development models, it also warrants different types of testing in order to adapt to the developed software.

6. Acceptance, Installation, Deployment- The final stage of initial

development where the software is put into production and runs actual business.

7. Maintenance- We need to check first our system if it has an error and if the
company will want to add in the system. It is also primarily a reactive process where developers try to find ways in fixing problems. There will always be a time where a bug or the lack of a certain process hinders the proper execution of software. Developers will take a look at the problem and possibly create an answer to the concern. But maintenance does not end there for SDLC. Developers always conduct a preventive maintenance for their software. There are also companies that adhere to the idea of constant monitoring to ensure that the software works well.
