The Issue
Many situations exist where broadband measurements of hand-arm, whole-body or machine vibration levels do not provide adequate information to the user. For instance, in some regions of the world human vibration exposures are required by law to be quantified for discrete octave bands. Elsewhere, while broadband measurements of vibration are a prudent first step, attempting to apply engineering controls to resolve excessive vibration levels requires an understanding of the frequency content of the vibration that is occurring. In machine condition monitoring applications, effective & efficient preventative maintenance also often requires an understanding of the frequency content of the vibration.

The Solution
Quest Technologies introduces the VI-400Pro Real-Time Vibration Analyzer to meet these requirements. The VI-400Pro is a rugged, powerful, lightweight, handheld device ideal for field use even in the most challenging environments. The VI-400Pro analyzes up to four simultaneous tri-axial vibration measurements, providing 1/1 or 1/3 real-time octave band data for each axis. The VI-400Pro meets all Type 1 requirements of ISO 8041, IEC 651, IEC 804 and IEC 61672, the international instrument performance standards for human vibration & sound measuring devices. The ultimate simplicity of the VI-400Pro is realized through the QuestSuite Pro II applications software package. QuestSuite Pro II reduces setup of the analyzer to just a few mouse clicks that conveniently load factory-predefined application setups into the instrument making it ready for use. As an added bonus, the VI-400Pro can also be applied to sound analysis applications by attaching an optional acoustical microphone.
