What is the Book of Abraham?

The book of Abraham is an evidence of the inspired calling of the Prophet Joseph Smith. It came forth at a time when the study of the ancient Egyptian language and culture was just beginning. The book of Abraham reveals truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ that were previously unknown to Church members of Joseph Smiths day. It also casts a bright light upon difficult passages found in other scriptural texts. -The book of Abraham is the word of God spoken through Abraham the prophet. As a mouthpiece of God, he too has given us priceless revelation. And through Joseph Smiths translation, this revelation has been available to us for our knowledge, keeping and sharing in these latter-days.

What is the Abrahamic covenant?

The Lord made repeated promises to Abraham that he would become a great nation and also that in him should all families of the earth be blessed. (Genesis 12:23.) And yet again the Lord said to Abraham: As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God. (Genesis 17:48.) Abraham thus covenants for himself and for his seed that he and they will serve the Lord Jehovah, who in turn promises them eternal increase. -The Abrahamic covenant is a covenant between the prophet and God that if he and his posterity and whoever taken into the fold would keep the commandments and endure to the end, so is he who shall be worthy of the blessings He has given with this covenant.

How can we take part/ become a part of the Abrahamic covenant?

Elder John A. Widtsoe stated: All who accept the gospel become by adoption members of the family of Abraham All those who receive the ordinances and live the gospel of Jesus Christ receive the same promises that the Lord gave to Abraham. They will be called Abrahams seed (posterity), and will receive eternal life (see Abraham 2:1011; see also Galatians 3:69, 14, 2629; D&C 84:33 34; 132:2932). -All those who accept the gospel of Jesus Christ, get baptized into His church and live like unto Him, same are they that become a part of the Abrahamic covenant. They, too, become eligible of the promised blessings that come with this covenant.

Abraham 1:2

Abraham having found that there was greater happiness, peace and rest for him sought for what he thought he was rightfully an heir to. He wanted to be ordained and administer as well, just like his fathers before him. This led to his being a follower of righteousness and a seeker of that which was good. In return, Heavenly father blessed him and his posterity greatly that until now, those who do as he did, even as the prophets of old and the present have, even they could be taken into the fold and be worthy of the blessings both temporal and eternal of the Abrahamic covenant.
