o student blogs Use this template to guide you through embedding student blogging into your course curriculum. It will help you identify the learning aims and outcomes you will use to assess student blogs. The first half of this document provides an example that is a guide. You will find a blank template in the second half of this document to fill in the relevant information about the learning outcomes for your own course. Download and save this template for your own reference. Title and brief description of the unit/module in which student blogs will be used: Title: Professional Contexts Description: This unit will introduce students to key aspects of the content industry and how to operate professionally within it. Students will develop negotiating, planning, research and analytical skills crucial to a writer operating in the field or as part of a team. Students will be encouraged throughout this unit to work in collaboration with other specialists, including photographers, designers, animators and illustrators to devise or join writing-related initiatives that may contribute to their overall professional development. Students will also be introduced to the concept of working as a freelance and to the legal and ethical issues and dilemmas they may encounter in their professional writing practice. Aim of session: What do you want your learners to achieve? Students will learn about publicising and promoting themselves and their work, and develop their own self-marketing website and blog. Towards the end of the unit, students will commence online industry networking and furthering their professional profile.
