[New Year Mega Contest] TERMS AND CONDITIONS

A. BASIC TERMS 1. Organiser MEASAT BROADCAST NETWORK SYSTEMS SDN BHD (ASTRO) 2. Name of Contest 3. Brief Description of Contest/ Programme 4. Brief mechanism of Contest New Year Mega Contest All active Astro subscribers are eligible to take part in this Contest and stand a chance to win a Proton Exora or many other fabulous prizes. A total of fourteen (14) questions will be uploaded on the Astro service platform throughout 7 January 2012 to 22 January 2012, wherein contestants will be required to answer one (1) generic question in relation to the Astro service correctly on a daily basis throughout the Contest Period. To access the questions, contestants will be required to click on the Red button on their DMT or DMT4 (B.yond) remote control(s) and send in their answer(s) via SMS to the number stated in Clause 14 below. The Contestants must adhere to the mechanism of the Contest as may be briefed and communicated to the Contestants by the Organiser during the Contest Period.

5. Eligibility Criteria

Subject to other criteria set out below and in the Contest Standard Terms and Conditions, this Contest is open to all Malaysian citizens of the Age of Eligibility below who are active Astro customers* during the Contest Period and their immediate family members* Active Astro customer means a subscriber of the Astro Service and whose account is current and active with no outstanding payments due and owing to Astro and who has not breached the Astro subscription agreement nor given any instructions to terminate and /or suspend his/her subscription to the Astro Service as at the date of winner notification. Winners must remain active Astro customers until the date of collection of prizes. *immediate family members means spouse, children, parents, brothers and sisters.

6. Ineligibility

Employees of Astro Malaysia Holdings Sdn Bhd and their immediate family members*. *as stated in Clause 5 above.

7. Age of Eligibility 8. Charges

18 years of age and above as at 1 January 2012. A SMS to answer each question will be subject to a charge of RM1.00 each. A SMS to request for each question will be subject to a charge of RM0.50 each. Note: If a SMS sent by Contestants (in answering a question) is not valid, the Contestant will be notified by his/her telecommunications service provider via SMS. Each of such SMS will be a charged RM0.30 by the Contestants respective telecommunications service (Maxis users will not be charged RM 0.30).

In addition to the above Charges, the standard charges charged by the Contestants relevant telecommunications service provider shall apply. 9. Contest Period The Contest will be held from 7 January 2012 at 0000hrs to 22 January 2012 at 2359hrs. The Organiser reserves the right to vary, postpone or re-schedule the Contest Period or any dates thereof at its sole discretion. 10. Language of Contest The Contest will be organised by the Organiser in the English language only. Entries submitted in any other language will be rejected by the Organiser. 11. Entry Procedure Step 1 Contestants will be required to access their Astro Service and click on the Red button on their DMT or DMT4 (B.yond) remote control(s) to view the question. Step 2 Contestants will then be required to send in their answer daily via SMS as follows: To answer a question, Contestants Number><Space>A/B and send it to 32777. must type MC<Question

Example, if the answer to Question 1 is B , please type MC1 B and send it to 32777 Upon answering the final question uploaded on the last day ( 21 or 22 January 2012), contestants will be sent the following message:st nd

TQ. To complete contest entry you must key in MC<space>Astro Account No#Name#ICNo to 32777.T&C Apply. Failure to comply will lead to disqualification. Step 3 Contestants will then be required to submit their personal particulars to effect participation in the Contest by typing:MC<space>Astro Account No#Name#IC No and send it to 32777. Example as below : <MC 0804297771#RajuSundram#810718086175> and send it to 32777 Once complete details are received, Contestants will receive the following message from the Organiser: You have successfully submitted your entry. Winners will be notified according to the terms and conditions stipulated. Thank you for participating. Note: All previous days questions will still be available on the Astro Service throughout the Contest Period and you may also request a previous question by typing MC <Question Number> and send it to 32777. Example, if the question to be requested is Question4, please type <MC4> and send it to 32777. The Organiser shall be entitled to request to sight the Contestants original National Registration Identity Card (NRIC) or the originals of other supporting documents/materials for verification purposes. 12. the stipulated Entry Deadline will be disqualified and ineligible for consideration for prizes. 13. Mode 14. Address 15. Selection of Winners By SMS only 32777 There will be a total of 14 questions throughout the Contest Period (1 question daily from7 January 2012 to 22 January 2012 ). The 14 questions shall be collectively known as the Block of Questions.
Each correct answer will be counted as 1 point. The points will be

counted based on the Block of Questions i.e. the maximum score is 14 points.
At the end of the Contest Period, 14 winners will be selected based on

the most number of points accumulated.

In case of a tie, the Contestant who has accumulated the maximum number of points by way of the shortest number of attempts will be declared the winner.

In case of a further tie, the Contestant who has sent in their last correct

answer the earliest time will be declared the winner.

16. Prizes

17. Notification of winners

The contest winners will be announced and published on or before 28 January 2012 on the Organisers website at www.astro.com.my/megacontest There will be a prize giving ceremony scheduled on 28 February 2012 for all contest winners. Details on time and venue will be communicated during the notification of winners

18. Collection Period

Winners are required to redeem their prizes within 1 month from the prize giving ceremony. Venue will be announced during the prize giving ceremony. (a) Eligible contestants may enter multiple entries in this Contest. However, each Astro account is only entitled to one prize. Any subsequent wins, if so announced shall be null and void. (b) Contest winners must continue to be Active Astro Subscribers until the fulfillment of prizes, failing which winners will be disqualified from the

Contest and any prize won will be forfeited. (c) Contestants will not be eligible to win prizes in this Contest if he/she has won any form of prize(s) in any other contest held by the Organiser previously in the past two (2) months from the winner announcement date.

(d) Contestants shall be solely responsible for all charges and costs incurred as a result of his/her participation in the Contest including (without limitation) all charges imposed by the Contestants telecommunications service provider. (e) Where applicable, Contestants must obtain consent from the telecommunications service *Bill Payer before participating in the Contest. Payment shall be made irrespective of whether such charges were authorized by the Bill Payer. The Organiser will not entertain any complaints (whether made orally or in writing) concerning such unauthorized SMS entries made by Contestants. *Bill payer means the individual, company or entity specified in the registration or subscription form whose application for the relevant telecommunications service has been approved and accepted by the telecommunication service provider he/she subscribes to. (f) The total value of the travel prize to the fixed destination (including flight tickets and accommodation and travel insurance) shall not exceed RM10,000. All other ancillary and travel costs are the winners responsibility. Travel prize must take place between 15 March 2012 to th 15 April 2012. The prize winners are required to immediately confirm their travel date not later than 1 week upon receiving the vouchers. Travel and booking arrangements are to be made directly with the specified travel agency selected by the Organiser in accordance with the travel agencys packages and/or travel rates. All components of the prize must be taken together.

The Basic Terms and the Contest Standard Terms and Conditions (collectively Terms and Conditions) shall be binding on all contestants who participate in this Contest (Contestants). The definitions in the Contest Standard Terms and Conditions shall apply unless otherwise expressly stated in the Basic Terms. In the event of any inconsistency between the Basic Contest Terms and the Contest Standard Terms and Conditions, the Basic Terms shall prevail to the extent of such inconsistency. Entry and participation in the Contest shall be deemed an unconditional acceptance by the Contestants of the Terms and Conditions.
