WhenyouhavepoweredupandconnectedthePageCounter devicetoyournetwork,configureabasicsetofoptionstoenable thePageCounterCDRdevicetocommunicatewiththecost recoverysystem.

Caution: You must know your PBX settings before proceeding with the PageCounter CDR Initial Configuration process. Make sure that your PBX has the DSR/ DTR hardware flow control feature enabled. Some PBX equipment configuration may be required. Refer to your PBX manual or contact your PBX provider for assistance.

where: BaudRate ranges between 600 and 57600 in baud. DataBits is 7 or 8. Parity is O (Odd), E (Even), or N (None). Stop Bits is either 1, 1.5, or 2. End Character is any ASCII character between 0 255; typically 13.

Caution: If you change the file size, you risk losing call records.
Security
TheSecurityoptionenablesyoutochangetheproductpasswordforaccessingManager Mode,asdescribedinthesectionAccessingManagerModeonpage18.
Note: You cannot change the platform and Equitrac technician level passwords using this option.

TheHardware TestoptionenablesyoutotroubleshoottheEthernetconnectionbetween thePageCounterCDRandanotherIPaddress,suchastheEquitraccostrecoveryserver. UsingthePageCounterCDRasahub,youmayalsoconnectthePageCounterCDRto anotherdeviceusingtheexpansionport.
Caution: If you use the PageCounter CDR device as a hub for another networked device, and the PageCounter CDR loses power or is disconnected, the networked device connected to the Expansion port also loses network connectivity.

Whenthedeviceencountersanalertconditionsuchasbufferfull,diskfulloralackofCDR datafromthePBX,theStatusscreendisplaysalertindicatorsonthesecondlineofthe display.EquitractracksthediskfullalertandthenoCDRdatafromPBXalerton independentsignals.WhenthePageCounterCDRentersanalarmorwarningstate,it emitsanaudibletoneasdescribedinthefollowingtable.
Note: You stop the audible beeping whenever you press the ARROW UP or ARROW DOWN keys to acknowledge the alert. Audible beeping resumes after 15 minutes if the device remains in an alert condition.

Troubleshooting
Do NOT unplug the power supply. Verify network cabling to reestablish the network connection. When you re-establish the network connection, the PageCounter CDR sends CDR file information to the cost recovery server. The PageCounter will resume collecting data when the file size is less than 90% full.
