Our Purpose To lead the body of New Life Church in genuine, life-giving praise and worship and to encourage praise and worship as a lifestyle in the hearts of believers. To raise up quality musicians who will be worshipers first and foremost. To provide a family of believers whose relationships and mutual encouragement will produce a healthy atmosphere for spiritual growth. To develop leaders who receive experience and training in a local church setting. To provide praise and worship teaching through traditional class participation formats and experiential learning.

The Process Complete the online application (available September 1) or fill out a hard copy and bring it to Auditions: Thursday, September 11 @ 7:00pm in the TAG Chapel During the audition evening, you will be paired with a member of our Leadership Team as you learn new music along side other choir members, have a personal interview, have your picture taken , and get a first hand look at what the worship ministry at New Life is all about. Within a week of auditions, you'll hear from the NewLifeWorship Choir Director in a letter giving you specific information about your involvement in the ministry.

CHOIR MEMBERS ARE RESPONSIBLE TO: Choir Director, Worship Pastor RESPONSIBILITIES: [ Thursday Night Rehearsals, 7-9:00 pm: Weekly rehearsals include times of worship, music rehearsal, sharing, fellowship and short Bible-studies. Occasionally these times may need to be adjusted. [ Additional Rehearsals and Events: During the year we are involved in different events and there will be additional rehearsals scheduled as needed. Please refer to your calendar for more information. [ Sunday Service 9:00 am & 11:00 am: Call time for the Sunday service is 8:15am. We meet for sound check, fellowship and prayer prior to the service. Because we would like you to become familiar with the rehearsals and the worship music we sing, we will be asking you to wait several weeks before you begin singing on stage during the Sunday service. LENGTH OF COMMITMENT: One year renewable by mutual agreement. ATTENDANCE: The goal is AT LEAST 80% attendance. The attendance policy is there to help you evaluate where your priorities are and to help us pastor one another better. You are required to check in using your scan card that will be issued to you when you join the choir. You will check-in at the stations located outside the doors of the Theater every Thursday night. There will also be check-in stations located just down the hall from the Theater every Sunday morning. You need to check in for all Choir events including Thursday night rehearsals and both Sunday morning services. Attendance is not retroactive, so it is important that you remember to check in before each rehearsal or service. If you need to be gone for an extended period of time, please call to let us know. (265-3124) PLEASE BE ON TIME: Be in place, ready to sing, on time for services and rehearsals. Tardiness hinders the team from operating at peak efficiency. We especially do not want to be rushing around before services. Instead, we want to have time to prepare our hearts and minds for what the Holy Spirit wants to do in the service. CALENDARS: Each semester you should receive a monthly NewLifeWorship calendar by email and hard copy to keep you up to date on everything. Make sure we have your correct email address. If you do not receive yours, there are always up-to-date copies available at rehearsals or online at www.newlifeworship.com under Ministry Info, then Choir Calendar. PHONE LIST and EMAIL: Most of the time we communicate with the worship ministry through email. Please keep us updated with your current e-mail address. For the purposes of e-mail, mailings and phone contact, we maintain a NewLifeWorship team phone list. Please make sure the information on that list is accurate by checking it periodically. Current copies of that list are available at rehearsals for your personal use. CHILD CARE: Child care is provided free of charge during all choir rehearsals and most events. If you have a question about childcare for any other NewLifeWorship team function, please ask. We ask that children not be left unsupervised in the Living Room or other areas of the church during Praise and Worship team functions. MUSIC: Sheet music is (almost) always available to you. You are responsible for keeping your music from disappearing. Some music is signed out to you. In the event we need to sign out music to you, you will be responsible to return that music in good condition after we are done with it or pay for its replacement. DRESS CODE: [ Sunday AM: Check your calendar for the schedule of what to wear. Youll find it on any given Sunday in the box on the top right corner. COLOR SCHEME for the Choir: Blue, Light Blue, Gray, Orange and Black. I think it is increasingly important to continue creating a CHOIR IDENTITY. One of the ways we can do a better job at this is if we will dress as ONE GROUP rather than a bunch of individuals. The base color will always be black (except on special occasions) and the top color will always be a solid. No patterns or prints, and no accent colors. You can always wear black as a default color on both top and bottom. There is grace for those of you who are accumulating your wardrobe throughout the next few months. Let's all work together to make the choir a worship force to be reckoned with! FOOD: Please dont bring open cups of drink or food items onto the platform, even during rehearsals. Closed drink bottles are O.K. WHAT TO SING: If you dont know your part to a song or dont know the song, sing the melody and WORSHIP GOD!!!
