Joshua sends two spies to check out the land. They are hidden by Rahab. Israel crosses Jordan on dry ground. Twelve stones are placed as reminder of God drying up the Jordan and the Red Sea. Israelite men circumcised in Gilgal. The people celebrate Passover. Manna stops. Israel marches around Jericho one time daily for six days. Seven times on the seventh day. The walls of the city fall. Rahab and her family are protected. All of the silver, gold, bronze, and iron are sacred and to be placed in the treasury. Achan kept kept some of the sacred articles. The campaign against Ai fails. God reveals Achans sin. Achan was stoned. God sends Israel to attack Ai again. This time, they capture the city. This time, God allows them to plunder the city and keep the spoils. Joshua builds an altar on Mt Ebal and renews the covenant. People of Gibeon deceive Joshua. Pretend to have come from far away and want to make peace treaty. Joshua doesnt inquire of the Lord. Makes the treaty. After the deception is revealed, he honors

the treaty, but the Gibeonites become slaves. Chapter 10 Amorites attack Gibeon. Gibeonites look to Joshua for help. Joshua leads march from Gilgal. The sun and moon stood still, extending the day so the battle could be won. Joshua kills the five kings leading the Amorite forces. He goes on to conquer all the southern cities.
