Why National Skills Foundation of India (NSFI)? (Strength of NSFI)
1. A complete survey and analysis on the following Developed a Proposal for Skill Development in Textile Sector for training of 1.54 Million Skills force over a period of 10 years for Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) Base line study on best model on Livelihood Promotion for Backward Districts of Sonbhadra (U.P.) for FICCI. Developed and submitted a Project to Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) for Training and Placement of 8100 youth in M.P. and Gujarat in partnership with FICCI. Developed a Study Report on Human Resources Requirements and Training required for Logistics sector. As a part of International Knowledge Programme on Small Producer agency in Globalised market have just completed a survey (Primary survey of these kind are rarely conducted) on issues of small farmers in 4 districts of UP and Bihar. NSFI along with HSI has done publications post Indian Horticulture Congress 2010 which helped Industry Bodies & Policy Makers in decision taking. Released a Knowledge Report on Revitalizing Indian Agriculture A Road Map for Development of Agri Business in India in association with YES Bank.

2. High Qualified Trainers The organisation is established by the professionals of Agri Business having vast experience in the field of Agri Business Enterprise, Training, HR Functions, etc. The project execution team will have the mix of qualification and expertise with MBAs, Agriculture Graduates and Post Graduates in Agriculture, etc. The program will focus on rigorous training of the project execution team on the subject matters before they will be placed as team in North East India as project implementation team. NSFI is not for profit foundation focused on the objective of skill building and development of vocational opportunities for Indias large but unskilled workforce. NSFI has been formed with a vision to enable sustainable livelihoods for people through skill development. NSFI is realizing its mission through enabling large scale training of unskilled / semi-skilled workers, rural youth, farmers, and women entrepreneurs across the nation with the objective of providing them access to growth sectors in formal labour markets. As a part of International Knowledge Programme on Small Producer agency in Globalised market have just completed a survey (Primary survey of these kind are rarely conducted) on issues of small farmers in 4 districts of UP and Bihar. NSFI along with HSI has done publications post Indian Horticulture Congress 2010 which helped Industry Bodies & Policy Makers in decision taking. Released a Knowledge Report on Revitalizing Indian Agriculture A Road Map for Development of Agri Business in India in association with YES Bank.

Conference and Seminar In September 2010, organized a Round Table with Placement Officers of Delhi ITIs on Corporate Involvement towards Development of ITIs Training and Placement Status. NSFI organized the 4th Indian Horticulture Congress 2010 in November in partnership with Horticulture Society of India. The congress was a huge success and had active participation from Union & State Government/Corporate/Research Institutions and Agricultural Universities. NSFI has successfully organized Global Agri Connect 2011 Conference cum Agri Exhibition. The theme was Transformational Changes in Indian Agriculture: The Next Decade from 14th to 16th Oct. 2011 at Indian Agriculture Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi. Major Stake holders of Agri Industry, Policy makers, Eminent Agriculturists, Govt. and Related Industry bodies participated in the 12 sessions. NSFI is also organizing 4 North East Connect (Conference cum Exhibition) in association with North Eastern regional Agricultural Marketing Co-operation Limited (NERAMC) for promotion of rare products of North East and also for making the advanced agro technology available in NER Training / Skill Development Organised Krishi Ghosthi (Farmers Training) of approx. 10,000 farmers on various advanced technologies in Agriculture and Horticulture during Global Agri Connect 2011 at IARI, New Delhi between 14th Oct. to 16th Oct. 2011 for three days. Krishi Ghosthi (Technical Session) was related to Skilling through Experience Sharing of Progressive Farmers, Live Demonstration and the Exhibition of various technologies in field of o Advanced Horticulture o Hi Value Floriculture o Protected Cultivation o Bee Keeping and Other Allied Activity o Advanced Farm Equipments o Drip Irrigation Technologies, o Advanced Weather Forecasting Technologies etc. A separate session on Skill Development was organized in the conference with speakers from IFC, NSDC, IARI and NSFI.

Mr. V.K Malhotra (IAS): Former Chairman, Food Corporation of India and Member of National Commission for Enterprises in the Unorganized Sector (NCEUS). Mr. K. Malhotra belongs to the 1970 batch of IAS. An alumnus of St. Stephens College, Delhi, has done Post Graduation in English Literature and Post Graduation in Economics. Mr. Malhotra has for nearly a decade been involved in various aspects of Industrial Development and Financial Management from grass roots level implementation to the highest level of policy formulation at the national and international levels; from the project formulation and financing at the micro level to negotiating loans with the multi lateral institutions. He was also directly involved in Government of Indias interaction with multi lateral financial institutions and represented the Government in their deliberations as well as in negotiations of loans pertaining to various Industrial Infrastructure projects. Among the more important positions held in the above context were Director of Small Scale Industries, UP; MD, UP Finance Corporation; Director, Department of Economic Affairs, Government of India and as Technical Assistant in the International Monetary Fund, Washington.

Prof Vijay Pal Sharma: Chairperson, Post Graduate Programme (Agribusiness Management) Indian Institute of Management (IIM). Prior to joining IIM he was working as Agricultural Economist with Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR). His research and consulting focus is on agrifood policies, agribusiness competitiveness and strategic planning, rural infrastructure, agriculture trade and policy including WTO. He is esteemed member of apex committees on agriculture and rural development. He is a leading advisor to government on agribusiness and rural infrastructure related matters.

Prof Thomas A. Reardon: Thomas Reardon is Professor in the Department of Agricultural, Food, and Resource Economics at Michigan State University, USA, where he has researched and taught since January 1992. From 1986 through 1991, he was Senior Research Fellow at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), in Washington DC. From 1984 to 1986 he was Rockefeller Foundation Post-Doctoral Fellow attached to IFPRI and also working with ICRISAT in West Africa. He is widely recognized as the leading global expert in links between the supermarket revolution and agrifood value chains and farmers in developing regions. His work has nearly 5000 citations by 2008 in Google Scholar, and he is listed in Whos Who in Economics since 2003.

Dr. Dinesh Awasthi: Director, Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India. An Economist with extensive experience in Entrepreneurship training, teaching and research. He worked extensively on policy issues related to SMEs. He has worked with several multilateral agencies like ILO, UNIDO, UNDP, as a Consultant on several international assignments. He has four books, about 50 research papers and 14 research reports to his credit. His areas of interest are: policy research, cluster development, sub-sector analysis, micro-finance and rural banking, rural entrepreneurship and NGOs. Dr. Awasthi is a Member of various Apex Committees and Core Groups of Ministries of MSME, Urban Employment and Poverty Alleviation, Department of Science & Technology, National Commission for Enterprises in the unorganized Sector, etc.

Prof Upmanu Lall: Upmanu Lall is Professor and Chair of the Department of Earth and Environmental Engineering at Columbia University. His principal areas of expertise are statistical and numerical modelling of hydrologic and climatic systems and water resource systems planning and management. He has over 25 years of experience as a hydrologist. He has been the principal investigator on a number of research projects funded by the USGS, the NSF, the USAF, NOAA, USBR, DOE and State of Utah and Florida agencies. These projects have covered water quantity and quality and energy resource management, flood analysis, groundwater modelling and subsurface characterization, climate modelling, and the development of statistical and mathematical modelling methods. He has been involved as a consultant with specialization in groundwater flow and contaminant transport modelling covering mining operations, stream flow modelling and water balance, risk and environmental impact assessment, site hydrologic evaluation, and as a reviewer and expert on a number of other hydrologic problems. He has also taught over 20 distinct University courses

Mr. Anurag Bhatnagar (IAS): Mr. Anurag Bhatnagar is an IAS officer and is an EX Director General of National Institute of Agriculture Marketing, Jaipur. We are privileged to have Mr. Bhatnagar on our board. NIAM as a premiere organization in agribusiness would guide us in curriculum development and skill training in the field of agribusiness.

Mr. Amit Khetan: Amit Khetan is a first generation entrepreneur. He is founder and director of Latent Storm Technologies Pvt Limited. He is an alumnus of IIM Ahmadabad with Post Graduate diploma in Business Management. He has worked with reputed financial institutions like Citi Group, ICICI bank. He has contributed in designing IT related services in these

institutions. He guides us in our technology related intervention and in installing proper IT systems within the organization.

Ms. Sangeeta Ladha: She is a pre-eminent horticulturist and Director, International Horticulture Innovation and Training centre (IHITC), Jaipur, India. An Agricultural Engineer with almost 20 years experience in Marketing, Business Development, Corporate Planning and Strategic Management. She has demonstrated abilities in planning & execution of altogether new projects She has been associated in multifaceted assignment involving marketing and execution of micro irrigation system projects with some of the leading Indo- Israeli joint venture companies, Development and Training of Channel Partners, Strategic planning for sales promotion, Media Planning, branding and implementing innovative concepts for business development, designing and implementation of training programs and seminars in hi-tech horticulture all over the country

Dr Satender Arya CEO, NSFI Education: Post Graduate from Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA), PGDIT from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) Experience: Senior management professional of proven capability with 20 years of experience in Category Management, Food and Agri Supply Chain, International Business, New Business Development and Vendor Management functional areas. Handled multifarious responsibilities with leading MNCs and Indian Corporate Concerns viz. Reliance (Agri & Food Supply Chain), Sinochem, Grasim Inds, Khatau Junker & National Dairy Development Board. Has an extensive and in depth expertise in business strategy and planning, financial budgeting and successful implementation of challenging projects. In SEWA Bharat she was managing Swarna Jayanti Gram Swarojgar Yogana in Bhagalpur district of Bihar. Apart from project management, she has substantial experience in research.
