Tarporley Talk December 2008 3
DEAR READERS
WELCOME to the December edition of
Tarporley Talk. There is always so much
p12 p16
going on at Christmas - and the festivities
get into full swing in early December with
the switch on of the lights in Tarporley and
Tarvin.
Watch out for Santa on the Round Table
float, who will be dishing out gifts acroos
the area and collecting for charity at the

same time.
We’ve got a nice Christmas recipe, some
advice on how to avoid piling on the pounds
over the festive season and lots more
besides.
There is a feature on how a furniture
company used their woodworking skills to p34 p44
bring an old van back to life and an article
about the long awaited new playground at
Kelsall.
As the year comes to an end, so does the old
regime at Tarporley Talk. The magazine is
now under new local ownership and we hope
p46 p63
to make it even more successful in the future.
So look out for lots of bright new features

Stagecoach Nantwich offers free trial sessions!
STAGECOACH Nantwich is now offering free trial sessions to local children. The variety
within the sessions at Stagecoach keeps children focused and enthused and after three
hours of active, stimulating classes they are alert and stretched mentally and physically.
As Stagecoach is now in its 20th year, it’s amazing to see how our students have
developed. Many parents report on how their own children have benefited – for some
it’s a new passion for the performing arts, for others it’s an increase in confidence which
shows in both their school and social life, for many it’s the new friends they see each
weekend. The free trial sessions are being held on Saturday 13th December and places are
strictly limited and must be pre-booked.
Stagecoach is open to boys and girls aged from 4 to 16 of all abilities. Siblings are
welcome and enjoy a half-rate fee. Children from 4 to 6 are welcome to enrol in our 90
minute Early Stages classes. Over a year, your child will enjoy professional training in
all aspects of theatre performance. Working in a small group of up to 15 students with
supportive specialist teachers, you and your child will be thrilled at how quickly they
progress. As one of our students, each week next term your child will enjoy:-
• an hour of singing from shows, films and a variety of popular music
• an hour of dance using elements of ballet, tap, modern, jazz and other styles
• and an hour of drama covering a wide range of drama games, confidence exercises and
improvisation skills
• we offer Lamda examinations in both singing and drama and run our own dance group
To enrol or to book your child’s free trial session please call 01829 759353.
You will have the opportunity to enrol your child on 13th December. Complete the

Playtime starts in Kelsall - that’s official
THE new £65,000 toddlers play area at Kelsall Green has been officially opened.
It marks the end of 30 years campaigning by the parish council and its partners to develop
the land on Chester Road behind the Morris Dancer pub.
But the work does not end there. Kelsall Parish Council need help to find £16,500 for the
multi-use games area for local teenagers.
If you would like to help fund the Kelsall Green project, call Tara Edelman on 01829 752720.
