Course Outcomes (CO)

COURSE PLAN FLUID MECHANICS I KNJ1053 3 Core The aim of this course is to provide the student with the basic knowledge of fluid mechanics where there students should be able to define fundamental fluid mechanics principles, and apply these principles in solving engineering problems. This course includes the concept of a fluid as a continuum, pressure distribution in fluid, integral relations for a control volume, differential relations for fluid flow, dimensional analysis and similarity, and viscous flow in ducts. By the end of this course, students should be able to; CO1 CO2 CO3 CO4 define and explain the principles associated with concept of fluid as a continuum, pressure distribution in a fluid and kinematics of fluid motion. apply and work with the energy equations expressed in terms of heads to solve problems associated with mechanical work devices solve fluid mechanics problems based on the dimensional analysis and modelling approach solve and analyze the problems associated with viscous flow in ducts using on the fluid mechanics principles.
