Language Unites

What is language? Language may refer either to the specifically human capacity for acquiring and using complex systems of communication, or to a specific instance of such a system of complex communication. The scientific study of language in any of its senses is called linguistics. There are about 30006000 languages that are spoken by humans today in this world. Meanwhile, language unites people in a culture by allowing people within that culture to communicate with each other, but it also divides people because one culture can not communicate with a different culture that speaks a different language. For Malaysia, the indigenous languages of this country belong to the Mon-Khmer and Malayo-Polynesian families. The national, or official, language is Malay which is the mother tongue of the majority Malay ethnic group. The main ethnic groups within Malaysia comprise the Malays, Chinese and Indians, with many other ethnic groups represented in smaller numbers. The largest native languages spoken in East Malaysia are the Iban language and the Kadazan language. English is widely understood in service industries and is a compulsory subject in primary and secondary school. It is also the main language spoken in most private colleges and universities. English may take precedence over Malay in certain official contexts as provided for by the National Language Act, especially in the states of Sabah and Sarawak, where it may be the official working language.Malaysia contains speakers of 137 living languages,41 of which are found in Peninsula Malaysia. The government provides schooling in each of the three major languages, Malay, Chinese, and Tamil. Within these three there are a number of dialectal differences. However, in countries whose people are united, as in Canada, America, Australia, Japan, Korea and China, the language that became a unifying tool. Metaphorical language gives people that are shared by all tribes and races. Common language allows people related to each other with subtle and sophisticated and together dreamed of a great nation. Posing the policy language is culture, if we use the English language culture will be created is a culture that is emitted by the language, perhaps with a slight coating of the local culture diverse. To build a coherent knowledge, we also need a sophisticated language, which grow continuously. Malay language is ripe is built for thousands of years by our ancestors, and we renew our dedication keapdanya in 1957, with the independence of Malaya, and then as Malaysia. Malay language not only be a communication tool and medium for acquiring knowledge, but contained in it way of thinking, the concept of nature, community values and traditional knowledge, religion and culture of the Malay / Malaysia as well as selfesteem, especially those established dalarn all types of literature, 1isan and writing. By providing a more dominant on English for terdinamik areas then we take our national versions of the possibility of a large and versatile language.

Meanwhile, we are reminded of a study by the Open University in London, who

predicted that in 30 years the Malay language will become the fourth largest language in the world. Therefore, it is our responsibility today to promote the ancient language is so beautiful when up on time this language has really become a world language. Despite this study, we found that English is no longer will be the first language in the world, but only finished in third place, after Mandarin and Spanish. The following are some arguments why the Malay language should be re-used as the language of mathematics and science, but the language of knowledge in schools and universities: Firstly, the purpose of achievement of English language schools in Malaysia could be improved by more effective teaching methods and an attitude towards the language better. If we refer to the experience of the Netherlands then we will find an example of how the English, French and German only introduced in secondary schools. But because of good teaching and effective, so after finishing high school these students are able to speak and write in these languages tell, better than the Malaysian students to speak English, although students have learned to Malaysia for the past 11 or 13 years. We also may need to refer to the model of language teaching in Denmark, Sweden and Norway are proud of their own native language but can use other international language fluently. Therefore we should not just Singapore sample, but Scandinavia, the Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland. Secondly, winner of the Nobel Prize in all fields not only come from English speaking countries, but more comes from non-English speaking countries such as France, Germany, Japan, Spain, Switzerland, India and Bangladesh. That mencemerlangkan British language but they are not new and experimental knowledge of due diligence and ongoing. Knowledge environment is an important factor that drives them to high levels of success. Then, several problems in our country not as a result of the English language. There are many towns have been colonized by the English language as medium of instruction in school, but apparently disorganized administration and economy, and knowledge. Otherwise in Malaysia to use Malay as the national language has led us into the world of industry, science and technology. If we do not return the Malay language as medium of instruction to all fields so we, especially the BN government, will be accused of in history as the destroyer of the Malay language. Malay is a language that long, and has already become the lingua franca in the region of Southeast Asia. And for several decades after independence, the Malay language is up and become strong again, to the reduced status as English language instruction to be used as tools to teach science in the field of mathematics, science and technology. With these results and the use of English for selected areas of adult self then we have created two types of citizens of Malaysia: the first citizens master the English language and science and technology, and the next second, the Malay-speaking citizens and control the -arts and social sciences, the areas that are insignificant and inferior. We support policies that opened the eyes and knowledge of students to the wide world, relevant and updated. We do not object to the teaching of English as an international language, but would like to suggest that more international languages taught. However, for the development of culture and identity of the Malaysian nation we must have learned a language consolidation, discovered by all

Malaysians. Meanwhile, the government should also teach the native language of these students at the primary level so that the language was not extinct. If we compare Malaysia with citizen citizen Thailand or Indonesia, Malaysians are not proven to master the national language , not proud of the cultural and national identity is not clear. The reason is because the arts and culture is not an important, education and therefore less ignored. Together with the Malay language teaching organized and tidy students should be introduced to important works of Malay literature in primary and compulsory secondary education. This is done in all countries France, Germany, China, Japan and Korea. Only in Malaysia, the children, and now adults, have never known or read the great works of their ancestors as Sulalatus al-Salatin, Hikayat Hang Tuah, and Tuhfat al-Nafis, a lot of history painting and the values and identity himself.
