1 John 3:8 Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and truth.
Feeding The Hungry To allow the hungry to remain hungry would be blasphemy against God and ones neighbor, for what is nearest to God is precisely the need of ones neighbor. It is for the love of Christ, which belongs as much to the hungry as to myself, that I share my bread with them and that I share my dwelling with the homeless. If the hungry do not attain to faith, then the guilt falls on those who refused them bread. To provide the hungry with bread is to prepare the way for the coming of grace. Dietrich Bonhoeffer

In the 8th century B.C., a prophet of God condemned the sinfulness of many of Jerusalems citizens. On behalf of God, he chastised anyone who abused power, was unjust toward the poor and used bribes and position to gain money and status. He even condemned prideful women who walked with outstretched necks, glancing wantonly with their eyes, mincing along as they go, tinkling with their feet. (He was referring to little bells attached to womens ankles.) Who was that prophet? A. Isaiah B. Amos C. Hosea D. Jeremiah (See 3:16, NRSV, of the book with the prophets name.)
B-I-B-L-E Bible: Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth Recall the old story of the grandmother who was reading the Bible. When her grandson asked her why, she said, Im getting ready for my final exam.
