1) Do you wear sports wear?

This question was asked to know if respondents buy sportswear for their daily use. It would help us to identify our target respondents who actually buy sportswear. Out of 200 respondents 183 that is 91% respondents replied as Yes and the rest 17 that is 9% respondents replied as No. The questionnaire was not filled further by those who replied as No. With this we can interpret that there is a good market for sportswear. People are buying and are willing to buy different kinds of sportswear.

2) Do you prefer branded sportswear? This question was asked to further filter respondents who prefer branded sportswear out of those who buy sportswear. No further questions were answered by those who do not buy branded sportswear. Out of 183 respondents who buy sportswear 107 (58 %) prefer branded sportswear and 76 (42%) do not prefer branded sportswear. The reason for not to prefer branded sportswear was the high prices of the branded sportswear which they were not willing to afford.

3) The brands respondents prefer. This question was asked to basically know the brand awareness of respondents. The findings were in line with the secondary data which said that Puma is gaining and edge over others with its brand presence and promotional offers in India. The finding showed that people were much aware with

the brand of Puma. Puma was followed by Nike, which is most prominent and older brand in India in terms of its presence. Nike was followed by Adidas which just had its brand makeover and Sachin Tendulkar as its brand ambassador. Adidas was then followed by Reebok part of which is sold to Adidas. The secondary data also said that Reebok was losing its edge in India to Puma and Adidas.

4) Do you prefer the same brand every time? Out of 107 respondents who prefer branded sportswear 39 respondents prefer the same brand every time. 68 respondents do not prefer the same brand every time. The reason for this was the promotional offers given by different brands. 68 respondents prefer brands which give best promotional offers suitable to them. Out of those 39 respondents who prefer same brand every time 35 belonged to the high income group of Rs. 55,001 or above per month.

7) Are you brand loyal even when other brands have promotions and offers? As per the data generated 39 respondents prefer the same brand every time which indicates that out of 107 respondents only 34% of respondents are brand loyal. 68 respondents do not prefer the same brand every time. The reason for this was the promotions and offers given by different brands. 68 respondents which comprise 66% of the total 107 respondents prefer brands which give best promotional offers suitable to them. Again out of the 39 respondents who preferred the same brand 35 were of the high income group.

8) Which sports / physical activities do you participate in? Out of 107 respondents who prefer branded sportswear 40 respondents participate in Cricket while 20 respondents participate in Football and Badminton individually and 10 respondents participate in Running and Basketball individually and rest of them shown interest in other sports activities. This question was asked to know the utility of the sportswear for the specific sports activity among the filtered 107 respondents.

9) Are you satisfied with the promotional offers of the brand you prefer?
This question was asked to know the awareness of a consumer for the brand he/she prefers. Out of 107 respondents who prefer branded sportswear 65 respondents are not satisfied with the promotional offers of their choice of brands. While 42 respondents are satisfied with it and out of this 42 respondents 35 respondents are from high income group of Rs. 55,001 or above per month.

10) How do you intend to buy your sportswear? This question was asked to know the preferences of consumer when it comes to actually buying the sportswear. We wanted to find out how many consumers actually wait for the promotional offers and how many are brand loyal and stick to the same brand without bothering about the promotional offers. From the 107 respondents who prefer branded sportswear 39 respondents prefer to wait for promotional offers in stores or online, while 31 respondents get them out of India as gifts or through relatives. This means almost 65% of respondents buy or get their sportswear at lesser prices then the official market prices.

11) Age group: Out of 107 respondents who prefer branded sportswear 30 belongs to 15-20 years of age group while 50 belongs to 21-30 years of age group and others are from 31-40 years of age group.

12) Educational Qualification: Educational qualification has no direct relation with the subject matter but it has included as a part of the demographic study. out of 107 respondents who prefer branded sportswear 50 respondents are graduates and 40 are post graduates while rest of them are HSC pass outs.

13) Monthly income: Out of 107 respondents 35 belong to higher income group that is 55001 and above while 25 respondents belong to income group of 35001-55000 and 30 respondents belong to income group of 15001-35000. Rest of them fall into the income group of Up to 15000.
