INTRODUCTION
The study was done on the preferences of Veg and Non Veg food in Muslims and Non-Muslims where Non veg includes Halaal and jhatka meat. Survey was done on 50 elements including 50% males and 50% females. It was restricted to NCR. Halal (Arabic: all, "lawful") is a term designating any object or an action which is permissible to use or engage in, according to Islamic law. The term is used to designate food seen as permissible according to Islamic .The opposite of this word is haraam. The terms halal and haraam are applied to many facets of life; and one of the most common uses of these terms is in reference to meat products, food contact materials, and pharmaceuticals. In Islam there are many things that are clearly halal or haraam. There are also items which are not as clear, and for which further information is needed. Items that are not clear are called mashbooh, which means "questionable". 'Halal' means permissible. 'Haraam' means forbidden.

Jhatka or Chatka meat is meat from an animal which has been killed by a single strike of a sword or axe to sever the head, as opposed to Jewish slaughter or Islamic slaughter in which the animal is killed by ritually slicing the throat.

Consumer Behaviour
Consumer behaviour is the study of individuals, groups, or organizations and the processes they use to select, secure, use, and dispose of products, services, experiences, or ideas to satisfy needs and the impacts that these processes have on the consumer and society. The behaviour of the Muslim consumers towards the consumption of meat items is determined by their subculture factor that is their own religion. Majority of the Muslims eat halal meat only as is instructed in their religion. They strictly avoid any other kinds of meat. This particular consumer segment that is the Muslim customers hence are not catered to by some of these big firms which sell meat products. Hence the companies which are losing on this segment of consumers can make use of this business opportunity that is the behaviour of their Muslim customers by serving halal meat in their outlets. This move of theirs will help them to deal with this type of consumer behaviour of the Muslim segment and will substantially help their business.

Research methodology
In the applied use it is the selection of specific technical tools and techniques for collecting data and analyzing it. When we talk of research methodology we not only talk of the research methods but also the logic behind using these methods in context of our research study and explain why we are using a particular method.

Sample Size:
Sample size is restricted to 50 members who eat both Veg and Non Veg food. It includes 50% males and 50% females of different age groups.

Sampling Area:
Sampling area was restricted to NCR.

Methodology:
Simple random sampling is used.

Statistical tools and techniques:

Pivot Chart- A pivot chart is a data analysis tool that enables one to visualize a pivot table. It is a built-in feature of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access. Pivot Table- In data processing, a pivot table is a data summarization tool found in data visualization programs such as spreadsheets (for example, in Microsoft Excel, OpenOffice.org Calc, Libre Office Calc, Google Docs and Lotus 1-2-3) or business intelligence software. Bar Graph- A bar chart or bar graph is a chart with rectangular bars with lengths proportional to the values that they represent. The bars can be plotted vertically or horizontally.Bar charts are used for plotting discrete (or 'discontinuous') data which has discrete values. Some examples of discontinuous data include 'shoe size' or 'eye color', for which you would use a bar chart. In contrast, some examples of continuous data would be 'height' or 'weight'. Percentage Bar Graph- It is one of the forms of Bar Charts. It converts the data into percentage form.

LITERATURE REVIEW
Whats halal meat? In Arabic, the word halal means permitted or lawful. Halal foods are foods that are allowed under Islamic dietary guidelines. According to these guidelines gathered from the Qu'ran, Muslim followers cannot consume the following: Pork or pork by products Animals that were dead prior to slaughtering Animals not slaughtered properly or not slaughtered in the name of Allah Blood and blood by products Alcohol Carnivorous animals Birds of prey Land animals without external ears These prohibited foods and ingredients are called haram, meaning forbidden in Arabic. There are also items which are not as clear, and for which further information is needed. Items that are not clear are called mashbooh, which means "questionable"

Why halal meat is taken by Muslims? Islam has laws regarding which foods can and cannot be eaten and also on the proper method of slaughtering an animal for consumption, known as dhabihah. However if there is no other food available then a Muslim is allowed to eat non-halal food. Surah 2:173 states: If one is forced because there is no other choice, neither craving nor transgressing, there is no sin on him. The Process of making the meat halal (dhabihah)? The process of making the meat halal includes you kill the animal swiftly without scaring him or killing one animal in front of another. The person killing should be experienced and an adult. Give the animal food and water before killing it. Make sure you take the name of the MOST HIGH before killing the animal, recognizing that the animal really is the property of the Almighty Lord and you are taking life with HIS PERMISSION and for food. Be as kind to the animal as possible under the circumstances. Use a sharp knife to make a swift, deep incision that cuts the front of the throat, the carotid artery, wind pipe and jugular veins but leaves the spinal cord intact .Normally the process is so swift that the blood drains out and makes the animal black out and faints. Any movement thereafter is because of the muscles contracting.

LIMITATIONS
While conducting the survey, we had faced lots of problems which are mentioned below : 1. Finding the Muslim people around us. For this purpose we were using social networking sites through which we collected data from our Muslim friends and their family. 2. Surveying people of different age groups was not easy especially 40-49, were getting irritated. They were thinking we are doing this for any restaurant promotional purpose. 3. People in public were not ready to fill the questionnaire. 4. Few of the people did not know the difference between halal meat and jhatka meat. 5. Sample size is small: The size is not large enough to cater the sufficient amount of population. It just caters the Delhi NCR people which are not enough to make the inference about the populations consumer behavior. 6. Options were not designed specifically: A lot of respondents were claiming that options given were not covering the whole area about study. So respondents were confused or not sure about the options.

CONCLUSION
The study concluded that muslims prefered to eat non veg food in muslim restaurant and are more particular having halal meat. Muslims who are not specific about eating in muslim restaurants convinced themselves with the certificate they provide.
