Also you may have attained several other certifications. These certifications may be paid for by the Testing Incentive Program (T.I.P). There are four qualifications to this program a student should not be on probation of any kind at the time the voucher is issued, a student should be current with all financial obligations to the school, a student should have a minimum of a 2.5 GPA at the voucher is issued, a student should have a score at least a 90% on the practice test for the voucher to be issued. With your degree and all of the valuable certifications there are many careers you will be well qualified for. Microcomputer Technician, Network Technician, Network Administrator, Network Engineer, Internetworking, Router Technician. A microcomputer technician requires a high level of technical proficiency in the microcomputer product area or in electronics, with extensive experience in basic networking, LAN/WAN configuration and microcomputer technology. Familiarity with major operating systems including Windows XP, Windows 2000/2003 and Windows NT along with satisfactory verbal and written skills is necessary.

A network technician and engineer install/build and maintain computer networks and LAN/WAN/MAN hardware and software technologies. Configures and install routers and switches in accordance with company standards. They Work in conjunction with Network Engineers to support companywide communication needs. Troubleshoots network usage and peripheral issues, supports help desk analysts, resolves connectivity issues, and maintains data and telecommunication connections. They require expertise with varied products such as Cisco and Nortel, and hardware firewall solutions. Network Administrator oversees computer networks to ensure that they function smoothly. A network consists of a grouping of computers that communicate with each other or a central computer known as a server, on which computer files, programs, and other information are stored. A network may be as small as two or three computers or as large as the Internet, the world's largest computer network. Lastly a Internetworking/Router Technician Under general supervision, identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems encountered by District-wide users of various servers, the mainframe, desktop systems, District network Internet and other computer technology; troubleshoot and solve local-area network problems; provide technical support to end-users regarding computer hardware and software. All of these careers listed above are fast growing with increasing job opportunity. They will provide you with a stable career without worry of not being able to find a job during a downturn in the economy. Technology is always moving forward and there is a need for more and more people who have the skills you have learned from the degree choice you have chosen.
