Subject: Permission of practical training of 6- 8 weeks for students of psg
institute of technology
Dear Sir,
As you are aware, in-plant/ on-the-project practical training constitutes an important
ingredient of engineering curriculum. Besides being essential for their professional
advancement, this training is a statutory requirement for the award of B. Tech degree by
the Institute. This training is universally regarded as a vital component of engineering
education and is an indicator of the extent of industry-institute interaction, which is very
essential for the growth of industry as well as for attaining excellence in technical
education. As such we have to arrange this training for students at 5 th/7th semester level
and is conducted in Dec Jan / Feb each year during which period the academic work is
off due to winter vacations.
We earnestly appreciate the excellent cooperation we have been getting from
esteemed organizations like yours in accepting the students for this practical training. To
mention only a few, M/s ITI, IPCL, Swaraj Mazda, NHPC, NTPC, Khetri Copper Complex,
DRDO, Escorts, Delhi Metro Rail, Maruti Udyog, VSNL, Semiconductor Ltd., HPCL,
Mazgaon Docks, Power Grid Corpn., Central Water Commission, ABB, R.P.G. Cables,
Baghlihar Hydroelectric Project, BHEL, Uri Civil, BSNL, IRCON, RITES, HLS Asia, RRL, etc,
are some of the leading organizations where our students got this training in recent
years. In this context, I request you to grant permission of training in your organization
during Dec 2007- Jan/Feb 2008 in favor of the student (s) whose particulars are given
below. Your approval of this training will go a long way in building close association
between our two organizations.
