Camp season is near again. We are again looking for summer staff: young people, 18 years and older, who
will work with children at the camp in June and July. If you know of someone, please have them call the office

Reminder: Spring Semi-Annual Meeting
On April 9, we will hold Spring Semi-Annual Meeting at Central Baptist in Winchester, KY. At this
meeting the churches will send messengers elected by the church. There can be five to twelve messengers
according to the resident membership totals of the church. Please try to come and participate. Bro. Barry
Proctor of Spears Mill Baptist Church will deliver the sermon. In Business: we will vote on new officers and
committees for 2012-2013 and the associational budget for 2012-2013 and a child protection plan and emergency
plan for the camp.

Youth Bible Drill on April 7 at 2PM and Childrens Bible Drill on April 12, both at Reid Village Baptist
Church.

Spring hymn sings will be here before the next Tidings. I hope your choir will participate. Mt. Sterling
Hymn Sing is April 23 at Jeffersonville Baptist. Irvine Hymn Sing is April 24 at Beech Grove Baptist.
Winchester Hymn Sing is April 26 at Northside Baptist.
Food For Thought:
Calvin Coolidge, Thirtieth President of the United States said, If the people fail to vote, a government
will be developed which is not their government The whole system of American Government rests on the
ballot box. Unless citizens perform their duties there, such a system of government is doomed to failure.
Jim Kouri of Restore America wrote, Of the 52 million voter-eligible Evangelical Christians in
America, 10 million were not registered to vote for the 2006 Election, and over 20 million who were registered,
did not vote. Quite simply, less than 40 percent of all eligible to vote Evangelical Christians in
America...voted. Millions of evangelical Christians, out of apathy, ignorance, or indifference, choose not to
vote in election after election. Our absence from the voting booth has contributed greatly to the moral, spiritual,
economic, and political disintegration of America.
David Barton wrote in a WallBuilders article: 2006 voting efforts , There was a 30% decrease in
Christian voter turnout, falling from 28.9 million evangelicals voting in 2004 down to 20.5 million in 2006. The
result was clearly visible in the philosophy of those elected to Congress. Of 54 Freshmen elected to the U. S.
House, only 17 were pro-life (a 31% pro-life class). Of 10 Freshmen elected to the U. S. Senate, only 1 was
pro-life (a 10% pro-life class). The Baltimore Sun described the 2006 Congress as the most pro-choice Congress
in the history of the Republic Clearly, there is a direct correlation between Christian voter turnout and the
percentage of elected leaders who embrace and reflect basic Biblical values.
The Rev. Matthias Burnet (1803) said, Finally, ye . . . whose high prerogative it is to . . . invest with
office an authority or to withhold them and in whose power it is to save or destroy your country, consider well
the important trust . . . which God . . . [has] put into your hands. To God and posterity you are accountable for
them. . . . Let not your children have reason to curse you for giving up those rights and prostrating those
institutions which your fathers delivered to you.

CAMP REPORT Season off with a bang. We need HELP getting camp
open.
EX. BOARD REPORT20 churches represented with 77 attending. The
board approved association personnel policies, $9 rate for overnight boarding
at camp, and moved money from the general fund to the building fund.
ALLANSVILLEMade blankets for Ky Baptist Disaster Relief children.
Easter Passion Play is coming up on April 6 and 7 at 7 pm. Everyone
welcome.
BEECH GROVE Had a great Valentines meal with great fellowship.
March 30th @ 7pm movie at the Church. Easter Sunrise Service with
breakfast served April 8th.
BOONES CREEK Our Associational Youth Rally will take place Sat. April
29th at 7 pm. Doors open at 6pm. Please come and invite your friends!
CALVARY 26 people, including our Youth went snow tubing at Perfect
North Slopes, our youth went to Winter Jam. We started a Foundations class
for newer Christians. We will have a witnessing class-Share Jesus Without
Fear., starting after the Foundations class. We are excited about Easter and
Celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus!
CENTRAL On Sunday, Feb. 19 the children of Central led the evening
service and afterward we had a cupcake fellowship. A ladies luncheon was
held at Central on Sat. Mar. 10. The youth at our church will have Elevation
Weekend on Mar. 23-25. Chad Varga of Inspire Now will be the guest
speaker at Central during morning worship on Mar. 25 at 10:45 am. Centrals
worship ministry will present Fear Not Tomorrow on Sunday evening,
April 22 at 6pm and again on Sunday morning April 29 at 10:45 am. The Art
of Marriage Conference will be held at Central on April 27-29 and the
conference is open to the community.
CLAY CITYWe had a wonderful Baptismal Service in Feb. Easter Sunrise
Service at 7am followed by breakfast. Special music Easter Sun. Morning.
CORINTH-Community Dinners-Mar. 29-31, 5:30-7pm at the Church. Sat.
April 7th, 12 noon, Annual Easter Egg Hunt. All community children
welcome.
COW CREEK-Working toward VBS July 8-13.
EPHESUS Collected $2500 for Lottie Moon eclipsing our by $500. Youth
attended Winter Jam concert at Rupp Arena on Mar. 10. Church work day on
Mar. 24. TNT (Tuesday night in Town on Mar. 27 @ Gatti-Town in
Lexington for 5-8pm for youth fundraiser. 100th birthday celebration for Mrs.
Frances Paynter on April 7 at Pilot View School from 1-3pm. Easter activities
on April 8 to include Sonrise Service and light breakfast at 8:30am and an
Easter Egg Hunt for the children following Morning Worship Service. Will
soon be launching a small group for young adults age 18-30 meeting 1 night
each week.
EMMANUEL-No Report
FAITHHad great planning Session for our coming year with Gods will be
done. Sunrise Service at 7 am on Easter follow by breakfast ,S.S. and
Worship service. Please pray that revival will break forth with each Christian.
FRIENDSHIP Church having stain glass windows repaired. VBS date set
for June 10-15. Sunrise Service, Special Signing on March 25th. Donations
and supplies for tornado victims.
GREENBRIAR-Had to cancel due to weather and worship service. We have
had some members out with sickness. April Birthdays-Ina Elliott-4-10-Bill
Richardson 4-19. Anniversary-Charles & Ina Elliott. Preparing for Easter Egg
Hunt for Children. Looking forward to Easter Worship Service.
HEIDELBERG No Report
HERITAGEHeritage has been experiencing a great outpouring of the Holy
Spirit. Our weekly attendance has been running steady and new faces are
coming in to check us out and hear the gospel message preached. Everyone is
excited to see what God will do next in His Church.
HOWARDS MILL-No Report
IRVINE FIRST-Sunshine Ladies celebrated Valentines Day with a meal at
Cedar Village. Church wide chicken dish meal, had the most delicious variety
of what else-chicken. New gas furnace was installed just in time for Spring.
We thank God for the mild weather while the furnace was out. Church
Wide-snow tubing at Perfect North in IN., was enjoyed by all who made the
trip.
IVORY HILL-Second Blessing from Winchester passed out small
valentines gifts for children. Chili Supper and Singing from Ivory Hill
planned for Mar. 3rd. (CONTINUED)

IVORY HILL-Sunrise Service with breakfast served afterwards is
planned for April 8 at 7 am. An Egg Extravaganza is planned for the
children on April 7. A time has not been set yet. March 25 will be our
quarterly birthday supper and special singing with Mountain Joy as
our guest singers at 6 pm.
JEFFERSONVILLE-We had our Sweetheart Banquet at Michaels in
Irving in Feb., with 53 present to fellowship together. Feb. 26, Susan
Mccoy and the New Rain Singers, blessed us with beautiful music of
praise, uplifting and Spiritual all around, with 71 people to enjoy and
worship together. March we will be showing the movie Courageous.
Mar. 18 will host a pastor, Rev. Daniel Q. Smith at the request of our
Pastor Search Committee. All are invited to be here to hear the
message: both AM and PM. April 1, will be our Easter Dinner and April
8, will be Easter Sunday Message with Special Singing from our Choir.
If you arent attending a Church we invite you come join us in
Fellowship and Worship of the Lord Jesus Christ.
KIDDVILLE-No Report
MACEDONIAWe have begun a new emphasis on Sunday School.
Michele Witt has volunteered to be our Sunday School Director. We
began a new Adult Bible Study on Wed. nights entitled, Faith, Hope
and Luck. The deacons attended training in Danville, Ky on Feb. 6. The
group, Solid Ground, will bring a message in song on April 1, with a pot
luck lunch to follow. We will have a Sonrise Service on April 8 followed
by a breakfast cooked by the men of the church. We have begun the
process of checking into the possibility of putting a multipurpose
building on our grounds.
MEANS Pastor and others have been extremely busy volunteering in
various areas dealing with the aftermath of the tornado. Hosted Baptist
Mens Day with the men sharing testimonies, and the New Found Four
ministering in song. Hosting a Sunday School seminar Mar. 24th, and
began planning various summer outreach events.
MT. OLIVE-No Report
NEW COVENANT REFORMED-No Report
NEW HOPE Activity for the Youth to encourage youth attendance.
NAM Prayer, Given and Study. Planning Easter Sunrise and Regular
Service.
NORTHSIDE-Our Sunday School Director and Teachers had a meet
and eat on the 12th after church. The 19th was our Annual Senior
Valentine Banquet prepared by our women on Mission Group. We had
11 attended the Family Mission night on the 24th at Spears Mill.
PANOLA-Working on our 200th celebration. Sunrise Service and
Breakfast with Vinery Fork Baptist on April 8 at 7 am.
POWELLS VALLEYHad our Valentine Dinner Feb. 4th. Baptist Men
Day Feb. 5th, the men doing the Sunday Service. Children Valentine
Feb. 12th. Meal Ministry on the 25th. Served 200. The youth went to the
Winter Jam. Our Revival is April 15th-18th with Rev. Jessie Kline as our
guest speaker.
PROVIDENCE, C.C Youth plan to attend Winter Jam. Youth have a
locked-in planned later in the spring.
PROVIDENCE-EC-We had a showing of the movie Courageous
in February. What a wonderful family movie to watch. The month of
March had been dedicated to the Middle and High School students at our
church. We are calling it March Gladness with a weekly devotion
about prayer, games and food. Our youth are the future of the church, we
need to uplift them as much as we possible can. Have the date set for our
Ordination Service for our Deacons, April 29th at 2 pm. Our youth will
be attending Winter Jam. Spring Revival will be in April with Bro.
Kenny Davis from Bethel Baptist in Berea.
REID VILLAGE-Our WMU collected 24 blankets for the Ky.
Baptist Childcare Trailer for disaster relief. A group of 14 went to the
Creative Ministries Festival in Bowling Green. There were 23 youth and
adults who went to Winter Jam on March 10th. We took up a special
offering for the Ky. Baptist Disaster Relief for the tornado victims in Ky.
The youth is sponsoring a food drive for the tornado victims in West
Liberty. We have 8 children from our Kids Worship group who earned
their points and will be rewarded with a trip to Gattitown. The kids are
still practicing for the Easter play Hallelujah He Did It which they will
perform at the evening service on April 8th.

REID VILLAGE-Over a dozen ladies signed up for the 6 week Beth Moore study James: Mercy Triumphs which starts Thru. Night
Mar. 22nd.Our annual kite flying is scheduled for Sat Mar. 31st at 11 am at he Easy Walker Park. Well also have hot dogs, chips,
cookies, etc. This is an outreach program for Sunday School. Our CIA will be handing our Easter eggs to fill with donations for Annie
Armstrong Easter offering on Palm Sunday. Our Church goal for AAEO is $500.00.
SALEM-Watched the movie Courageous during the Sweetheart Banquet provided by the men. Have started serving a meal on the
3rd Wed. evening of the month.
SPEARS MILL-The mystery dinner hosted by Deacon, Fred Cornett and wife Diana was enjoyed by the youth. Feb. 24th Family
Mission night, was a blessing and very informative. The choir had been practicing for the Easter Cantata presented Easter Morning
titled Oh What A Savior. The message through song is very strong and inspiring. Plans are underway for Spring Revival in April.
Mar. 6th some members along with Pastor Barry Proctor loaded the van with bottled water and many more donated items and
delivering them to West Liberty. Their stories of the devastation and damage to so many is heart breaking. Our hearts and prayers
continue to go out to all the many locations hit by these storms. Also the youth and youth leaders went to Frenchburg to assist in
damage there. Spears Mill wishes everyone a blessed month and good health.

WM. MEMORIAL-Enjoyed an adult night of fellowship with gumbo prepared by Bro. Jeff, followed by the movie Courageous.
The children had a movie-pizza night later in the month. We began practice of Easter Music.
Our 2nd Annual Youth Hymn Sing- Youth Music Leaders, let our office know if your
church will be coming. No age limit. Its on June 8th at 7pm at Friendship Baptist Church

The vision for the committee is: An

that it needs help with, i.e.
electrical, plumbing, etc. It needs
help because it doesnt have funds
or manpower to deal with the
problem. This committee will utilize
available resources (manpower) to
correct the problem. If you would

Community Services had one budgeting class in February with eleven families
in attendance. We have seen an increase in the number of new families
coming in for assistance. Blankets are still needed as well as kitchen supplies
such as pots and pans.

The food pantry is stocked and able to meet the demand for groceries.
However, items such as toilet paper, Kleenex, dish detergent and laundry
detergent are difficult to keep on hand. Any help in this area would be
appreciated.

Community Services has three office spaces available for rent. Contact
Jennifer Palmer at 749-0727 if you would like to see the property or have an
interest in renting space.

Our volunteer appreciation banquet was held on Monday, February 13. It was
a very nice evening with fifty-three in attendance. Our volunteers are one of
most valuable assets.

New Beginnings Pregnancy Center in Winchester has an
ongoing need for baby wipes, diapers (sizes 4, 5, 6) and
formula (Good Start in green and orange cans), as well as
continued financial support. Churches are encouraged to
support local Pregnancy Centers in honor of Sanctity of
Human Life Sunday, Jan. 16, as well as throughout the year.
