FORMATTING SPECIFICATIONS FOR THESIS WRITING 1.

All text must be printed on 8 x 11 inch bond paper in 12 point Arial or Tahoma font, doublespaced, justified, with 1inch margins to the top, to the bottom and to the right, and 1 inch margin to the left. 2. The page numbers must be positioned at the center, bottom of the page. Paging starts on the first page of the Introduction. The page number must not be shown on the first page. Paging of contents between the Table of Contents and the first page of the text (List of Tables, etc.) must be in small Roman numerals (i, ii, iii). 3. Contents should appear in the following order: Title Page Approval sheet (The thesis entitled.) Bioethics Committee Recommendation ACKNOWLEDGMENTS ABSTRACT TABLE OF CONTENTS LIST OF TABLES LIST OF FIGURES

I. INTRODUCTION II. REVIEW OF LITERATURE III. MATERIALS AND METHODS IV. RESULTS V. DISCUSSION OF RESULTS VI. SUMMARY, CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION APPENDICES (Title is centered on page, starts on new page) REFERENCES (Title is centered on page, starts on new page) 4. All titles of major parts (I. INTRODUCTION) should be written flush to the left-hand margin in CAPITAL LETTERS.

 Ex.

Secondlevel titles should be written flush to the left page margin in bold letters. Thirdlevel titles should be printed in bold letters indented at the start of the paragraph.

II. MATERIALS AND METHODS Analysis of Samples (Secondlevel title) Determination of Phosphates. (Thirdlevel title) The samples were treated. taken from .. 5. Two double spaces should separate a major title from the previous portion of the text. Second and third level titles should be separated from the rest of the text with one doublespace. 6. All paragraphs should be indented 8 spaces at the beginning. 7. All tables and figures should be numbered sequentially in Arabic numerals from the start of the paper.(Ex. Table 1, Table 2, Figure 1, Figure 2, etc.) 8. Table labels should be placed on top or above while figure labels must be written below the figure. 9. Tables should be positioned so that each table is printed on one page only. 10. Discussions of tables and figures should be written if possible on the same page or on the page immediately after the table or figure. 11. Discussion of results should be supported by results of other studies. 12. Citations should be given in journal type. Ex. (Chang, 1996)
