Stages Step 1 Introduction ( 5 Min )

Content Recall on previous lesson. Multiplication test.

Teaching and learning activities Teacher asks pupils stand up. Those who can answer the multiply question can sit down. Teacher write question about addition of proper fractions with different denominator. Teacher asks pupils to try the question.

Step 2 Lesson development ( 15 Min )

Discussion on solving a problem solving question. Strategy for solving problem solving questions.

1. Teacher poses a solving problem on the whiteboard/textbook. 2. Asks pupils on: What is given? What is asked for? What operation is needed? pizzas on a table. Harold

Step 3 Individual activity ( 12 Min )

Test on pupils strategy in solving problem solving.

1. Teacher distributes sheet to each group. 2. Teacher gives 3 minutes on one question. Group who done first can raise their hand and show their solving in front. 2 marks will be awarded to the groups if they answer correctly but if they are wrong, one mark will be deducted. 3. Teacher calls pupils on random to do their solution with steps on the whiteboard.

Step 4 Enrichment ( 15 Min )

Pupils do the worksheet given. Observation on pupils understanding addition of mixed number with different denominators.

1. Distributes worksheet to pupils. 2. Pupils ask the teacher if they have any problems while completing the task.
