Learner Autobiography Comments: Do you want YOUR students to write about YOU one day: She/he was the

most INEFFECTIVE teacher I ever had, because his/her English was HORRIBLE and I did not learn ANYTHING ??????

Do you want your future students to see your CORRECTED Learner Autobiography ?

1. Put comma before because ( , because). 2. Dont use passive voice (This strategy is not liked by many students - Many students dont like this strategy). 3. Get rid of extra words. 4. Dont use too long sentences with several compounds (that, because, who, since, etc. - I think THAT I did not like English, BECAUSE I had a very bad teacher, WHO did not speak good English, SINCE she was very old) 5. Dont use according to me (I believe. I think. For me. In my opinion. ) 6. Never start a sentence with BUT, AND, BECAUSE. 7. Use time agreement (I thought learning English is (WAS) difficult) 8. Learn to use periods (.) 9. Use SPELLCHECK!!!! If the word is underlined in red, you need to right click on it and choose the correct spelling from what Word offers you. (There are no words laerned and spaeker) 10. It is FOR ME, not FORM E. 11. Choose words carefully (Win the University? (Should be ENTER) Read the Department ? (Should be STUDY at) 12. Dont use the same sentence structure (My English teacher was good. My English teacher was effective. My English teacher made me like English. My English teacher had good English) 13. Leave a space after comma and period! (You write one sentence.You put period and leave a space)

14. Use FIRST not FIRSTLY! 15. Use THIS WAY not IN THIS WAY 16. It is GRAMMAR not GRAMMER 17. English is written with a capital letter (English not english) 18. It is not lesson-book. It is text-book. 19. You dont HAVE a role. You PLAY a role. 20. FEEL RELAXED not FEEL RELAX. 21. APPLY these strategies, not APPLY TO these strategies 22. AFFECT and EFFECT are two different words. 23. You dont use TO after LET (LET ME TO SPEAK) 24. IN the University means IN the building. AT the University means during your studies. 25. GIVE an example, not WRITE an example. 26. HAD A LACK OF, not WAS LACK OF 27. WAYS TO TEACH AND LEARN, not WAYS IN TEACHING AND LEARNING 28. CONTRIBUTE SOMETHING vs. CONTRIBUTE TO SOMETHING (You can contribute ideas for the project vs. Language learning contributes to creativity) 29. PROVIDE SOMEBODY WITH SOMETHING (A teacher should provide her students with the opportunity to practice the language they learn)
