Latin@s, by most accounts are becoming more secular, which for my academic brethren means more articles to write, for las damas Catlicas, more velas to light for their mijitos/as. Writing about this surge to non-traditional religions: i.e. Latin@ Buddhists, Muslims, Sikhs...is both necessary since there are small communities, but it is wish fulfillment to suggest that it is a trend that will see massive numbers in the near future...why? forefront of the USCCB, and the every day concerns of their number one constituency will be taken seriously--psych. 1. (More of a rant): The next Latin@ pastor/priest/lay worker I meet who intentionally mis-pronounces or changes their name/politics/cultura in a weak attempt to feel included in a society that has never included them, shamelessly selling out their heritage for the sake of a few more people in the pews, and ignores the plight of our hermanos/as in favor of a specious culture war sold to you to deter you from the injustice and inequality that you should be fighting against...well your one of the reasons for No. 9....keep up the good work.
