Multi-Faceted Word that is Right I. Introduction A. Etymology of right Thesis Statement: In these times, the word right may be defined by most people as the opposite of wrong or the opposite of left. However, right is a word with multiple definitions applicable to several contexts. Of definition, right as used in Geometry probably is the most concrete. In law, a right is a just claim of which citizens are entitled to. Violation and abuse of a right often leads to morally and undesirable outcomes. Right is also defined as a process of law. In the societal stance, in which right has its most complex definition, it is defined as the state of conformity with fact, reason or some standard of principle. In other words, it is the opposite of wrong. Several other definitions of right have evolved with time.
