A polyethylene bowl allows air evacuation, therefore optimal food preservation. Brownie Wise, in 1951. advises Earl Tupper to organize women meeting to promote his products. Thus start the Tupperware Home Parties. In 1961. these American bowls charmed the Irish. At that time, 2 main factors favoured the quick development of Tupperware in Ireland; consumption and refrigerators boom.

TUPPERWARE specifies
A Canadian study, based on experimental results on animals, reported risks associated with use of polycarbonate baby bottles containing bisphenol A (BPA) which migrate material when heated to extremely high temperature. Tupperware brand products distributed in Europe are not affected by this risk. No Tupperware brand products specifically designed for babies contain polycarbonate. The bottles are made of polypropylene. No Tupperware brand products specifically designed for heating and cooking in the microwave contain polycarbonate. Only products in Eleganzia Serving range (page 11), the basics of some Times Savers range products (Speedy Chef, Herb Chopper and Quick Chef III on page 21) and one product from the Baking range (BTB Measuring Jug 1 l page 31) contain polycarbonate. They are mentioned in all our brochures and catalogs as unsuitable for use in microwave.

Tupperware plastic material undergo a drastic selection. Before use they undergo many tests such as impact, detergents, ultraviolet rays, temperature resilience according to their future application and of course all the necessary checks in compliance with food contact.
EFSA (European Food and Safety Authority) established in 2007 the Specific Migration Limit (SML) for plastic material in contact with food at 0.6 mg/kg. service and preparations products for Tupperware brand are checked below 0.05 mg/kg, a rate more than 10 times under the permitted migration rate, moreover material show results below this value. Beyond technical points, Tupperware brand has been distributing for 50 years in Europe: home demonstration, individual counseling, professionalism, Culinary advisors, Know-How Workshops, guides, cookbooks, pictograms on products. With Tupperware, everything leads to an optimal and safe usage of products.
For some time now, conditions of use of plastic containers for food have been subject to more or less disturbing press articles.
Falsely attributed John Hopkins Bloomberg School & Public Health communications are circulating on the Web. This institute of international reputation, denounces these allegations on its ocial website www.hshp.edu.com. These would include the release of carcinogenic dioxins released by cooking in the microwave in plastic containers. From a technical standpoint, release of dioxin affects only chemical (using chlorinated products) and thermal industries (fuel burning). It can intervene only if three conditions are strictly met: temperatures above 350C presence of organic sulfuric acid and chlorine. The assertions have no scientific basis. In any case Tupperware brand products, whatever their use, have the required conditions for minimum dioxin release.

Detachable handle, for pricking dough for even baking without bubbles. Convenient and easy to roll and get into the corners. The pattern roller makes it easy to create lattice pastry sheets. Dishwasher safe the roller needs to be separated in 2parts and placed in the cutlery basket. After washing, the hollow roller may contain water. Empty the excess water and make sure to dry it thoroughly before assembling and using again. The existing rolling pin can be filled with water to give extra weight when rolling crusts. The BtB Small Rolling Pin is not watertight so it should not be filled with water for rolling. For hygienic reasons, do not mix non-food use with food preparation use. The roller has an easy turning movement for smooth rolling. Those two latest additions are great for use with the silicone baking forms, UltraPro, the silicone baking sheet and with all baking pans. They are good for baking pies, tarts, short breads and torts, and for creating latticed crust for tarts and pies. All children like to help out when mother is baking. These great products allow children to participate more easily. When using the patry rolling pin in the form, firstly place the dough in the form and gently press dough down. Then roll out the dough using the rolling pin towards the edges to create a rim. With the edge of the roller, press the rim to create a crust. For lattice work cut the rolled out dough with the pattern roller. Do not prick the dough, or it will fold back on itself. Lay the dough on the work surface and pull the dough apart to create lattice. For smaller pieces, only cut through 2/3 of the dough. Lay the dough on your hand and pull the lattice apart. Now put the filling on the remaining uncut dough and place the lattice over the filling. Place on baking tray and bake. It is best to use filo pastry or yeast, elastic dough. Great for baking with children.
