Purpose
Introduce people to Global Bass music, and shine a light on the individual artists performing and the Global Underground Network (GUN) collective.

The Global Bass Movement

What is Global Bass Music? Global Bass" is a term which encapsulates the music and movement which surrounds several genres of regional bass-centered dance music from locales around the world. This most commonly includes genres such as Baile Funk/Funk Carioca (Brazil), Kuduro (Africa), Moombahton, Cumbia and Latin American styles, 3Ball/Tribal (Mexico), Soca, Dubstep (with world/tribal influences), New Orleans Bounce, Baltimore/Jersey/Philly Club, and Miami Bass, as well as any music that is heavily influenced by any of these cultures or genres. The beauty of the Global Bass movement is that it brings together many varying and unique sounds of cultures from around the world into one context. The few things all the sounds have in common are: the bass-centered nature, the creativity and cultural flavor expressed, and the music is made for dancing. Not only does Global Bass mean different things to different people, but it is continually evolving and changing. The Global Bass movement is actively growing in size and popularity, as more people around the world become exposed to it. Global Bass parties are now popping up in cities all around the world.

The Global Underground Network (GUN)

The Global Underground Network (GUN) is a private worldwide collective of the foremost Global Bass music producers, promoters, DJs and connoisseurs. The collective was created by Sean Casey (aka Bumps) in 2010 to connect like-minded producers to share unreleased new productions and get feedback from members on tracks they were working on. The original group consisted of around 30 members. Since no forum had ever existed for Global Bass music lovers, the group quickly became a place of discussion and brainstorming about the state of regional world dance music and culture and its growth. After

much debate, the group coined the term Global Bass to encapsulate the music and movement. Over the last two years we have grown substantially, now with 360 members who represent more than 20 countries. Today, the network exists to increase exposure to Global Bass music, as well as the artists within the collective. By connecting like-minded artists from around the world, it has become an incubator for the growth and development of the Global Bass scene. The artists within the collective are on the forefront of the electronic music scene, frequently creating new sounds and genres and expanding the horizons of dance music. They are the tastemakers of tomorrow. The members range in experience, from seasoned veterans to upand-coming talent, but they are all passionate about global culture and electronic music. Some of our more famous members include: Munchi Bert on Beats MC Zulu Erick Rincon & Sheeqo Beat of the group 3ball MTY (Pioneers of the Tribal Guarachero genre, whose song Intentalo is now in heavy rotation in the latin music charts.) Javier Estrada (Mad Decent) Joao Brazil known for his Baile Funk mashups
