If you could offer God a gift; What would you give him?

Well we might say thats kind of ridiculous. What could we as puny humans possibly give to the Creator and Owner of everything? Interesting question, isnt? The psalmist on our Bible reading this week on Psalm 110-118 had similarly ask such a ques. So please turn your Bibles to Psalm 116 and the ques is on V.12 The psalmist asks
What shall I repay to Jehovah For all his benefits to me?

Now what prompted the psalmist to ask this ques? It is because of the benefits that he received! What are those? If we go to V.3-4 of the same Psalm there we can read that Jehovah sustained him during his period of distress & grief and when he was encircled in the ropes of death, Jehovah rescued him.

What about for us today? What benefits do we receive from Jehovah? Well for 1 thing we are all born into a dying race & fear of death. Humankind has been at the mercy of tyrannical & corrupt rulers. We have been robbed and impoverished not only as to material things but what is worse as to spiritual things. Or perhaps some of us had even reached a critical point in life perhaps a dead end, -- just like the psalmist whose ropes of death encircled him-an impossible situation with no way out or so it seemed. But then at the right time Jehovah stepped into the picture. We learn of the good news of Gods Kingdom. Our Eyes & Ears were now opened to previously unseen & unheard wonderful spiritual things. A whole new life Full of hope for the Future. Or we might have experienced Jehovah's answer to our personal prayers.

And so meditating on the benefits, prompted the psalmist to repay Jehovah 2 things. At V.14 & 17 we can read what these things are.

(14) My vows I shall pay to Jehovah, Yes, in front of all his people. (17) To you I shall offer the sacrifice of thanksgiving, And on the name of Jehovah I shall call.

And so how can we repay Jehovah for all these benefits? Just like the Psalmist 2 things!
1. We pay to Jehovah our vows!

When we made our dedication to Jehovah, we willingly vowed to do his will. We disowned ourselves & made serving Jehovah our primary pursuit in life. Our entire pattern of life must reflect that. We must make sure that our worship to Jehovah remains the most important thing in our lives & we let Gods spirit guides us in everything that we do!
2. As constant recipients of Jehovah's goodness, we must

constantly thank him in front of others by speaking about our Generous Creator. If possible we do not let a day go by-- w/o telling others of Jehovah and the wonderful benefits we receive from him.

Obviously we cannot repay Jehovah. But doing these 2 things, we give Jehovah God a gift! The gift of making him happy or as Proverbs 27.11 says-- we make Jehovah's heart rejoice!

ISNT THAT A WONDERFUL GIFT TO GIVE TO OUR LOVING GOD JEHOVAH? ************* Now this is what I have meditated on our BR of Psalms 110118. What have you meditated brothers and sisters?

Ty very much friends for your comments, we now turn back our attention to Bro .
