Matthew 18:11 "For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost. Philippians 3:10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, Why JESUS had to be born as Man 1. To take back our lost dominion - In Genesis 1:28, GOD had said to man have dominion, but man lost that dominion when he first sinned in Genesis 3. Because it was man who had relinquished his authority to the devil, only man could get it back. GOD even promised the devil saying in Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head . And when CHRIST got back that dominion, He gave it back to us. You have dominion in this life!!!You are not a nobody, you have dominion you are not one to be trampled on by the devil, you have dominion here on this earth. You are not to be controlled by the enemy and situations, you have dominion. Dominion refers to power, authority, control, say-so and JESUS came to give you back your power, authority, control, say-so in this life. 2. To identify with us- Hebrews 2:17 Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. He walked where we walk, He saw what we saw, and He identified with us. That is why Heb 4:15 says For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, CHRIST loves you and cares for you enough to identify with you. He knows how you are feeling, and He will help you overcome. 3. To show us how GOD is - Heb 1:3 says He is the brightness of His (GODs) glory and the express image of His person. When we look at Him, we see GODs express image. When He healed, we saw the power of GOD, when He forgave, we saw the love of GOD. 4. To show us how we should imitate GOD and live in victory- Heb 4:15 says JESUS was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Hebrews 2:18 For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted. JESUS was fully man, even a fully young man, yet He did not give in to youthful lusts. 2Ti 2:22 Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness. There are youthful lusts that attack young people, but GOD wants you to be like JESUS and stay away from them. Godly fear carries a blessing. Heb 5:7 in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, (He)was heard because of His godly fear, 5. To pay our debt by dying on the cross for us Our LORD Jesus Christ accomplished a lot for us through His death on the Cross.

REDEMPTION

Ephesians 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. Your sins are forgiven, and you are REDEEMED!!!What is to Redeem? To redeem is to buy back. Redemption is the buying back of something that has been lost by the payment of a ransom. The blood of Jesus is the RANSOM by which He REDEEMED us. What have we been redeemed from?

1. We have been redeemed from the curse of the Law- Galatians 3:13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"), How was the law a curse? What made the law such a curse? (i) It made demands that we could not keep. If you broke one, you had broken them all. But thank GOD for Jesus. Colossians 2:14 says CHRIST has wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. John 1:17 says For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. (ii)It made promises that it could not deliver. Ro 8:3 For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, 4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. 2. We have been redeemed from slavery to sin- Romans 6: 12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. 13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. 17 But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. 18 And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. 3. We have been redeemed from the consequences of sin i.e death.JESUS pleaded for you, you were to die rightfully, but He took your place- Ro 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. John 3:16 says whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 4. We have been redeemed from the wrath of GOD. We had set ourselves apart for GODs wrath, but thank GOD for JESUS 1 Thessalonians 5:9For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him. 5. We have been redeemed from every power of darkness. Col 2:15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. Col 1:13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness. No witchcraft, no spirit of darkness, has got any power over you. The blood of Jesus is the RANSOM by which He delivered us from the powers of darkness that we had sold ourselves to, from the curse of the law, from the servitude of sin and its consequence of death. You were bought back- AND You were bought at a price. You dont have any right to do anything you want- you are not your own. Remember 1 COR 6:19-20 Spiritual laws cannot be broken, but they can be SUPERSEDED. From as far back as thousands of years ago, man had dreamt of flying, but the law of gravity kept him down . Until the Law of Aerodynamics came and superseded the Law of gravity AND NOW YOU CAN FLY. In the same way, man had tried to arise and be all GOD had call him to be, but the law of sin and death kept him down until a new law, the law of the Spirit of Life in CHRIST JESUS came into effect and superseded the law of sin and death. Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. YOU HAVE BEEN SET FREE from the law of sin and death- AND NOW YOU CAN FLY and be all GOD created you to be!!! Psalm 124:7 Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowlers; The snare is broken, and we have escaped. Dont just sit there- escape to the victory that CHRIST has won for you. You have escaped from the curse that kept your fathers down you have kept from the snare that held your people back you are not subject to your tribes powers no demonic power can hold you back from becoming all GOD intended you to be. You are FREE to be all GOD called you to be. 1. HE REDEEMED US

To redeem is to buy back. Redemption is the buying back of something that has been lost by the payment of a ransom. The blood of Jesus and His life which He surrendered for us is the RANSOM by which He delivers the people from the servitude of sin and its consequence of death. Ephesians 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace You were bought. You were bought at a price. You dont have any right to do anything you want- you are not your own. Remember 1 COR 6:19-20 2. HE JUSTIFIED US

To be justified is to be declared innocent. It is to be regarded and treated as being innocent. It is to be acquitted from the consequences of guilt before the tribunal of God. Justification means Yes you sinned, but because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ you are forgiven and declared innocent Galatians 2: 16" a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified. We obtain justification by faith in Christ. No act of ours is any ground for our justification. Justification does not depend on spotless holiness of life but entirely on the finished work of the cross. Justification is an event while sanctification is the progressive growth in holiness which begins at the point of justification. READ Romans 6 3.HE TURNED GODS WRATH FROM US Propitiation is the offering which appeases the wrath of God. The death of Christ on the cross satisfied justice and so turned GODs wrath from us. 1John 4:10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Christ is the propitiation for our sins. GOD is not angry at you, His anger against you was turned away by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. What a joy to know that GOD is not angry with you!!! 3. HE BECAME OUR SUBSTITUTION

2Co 8:9For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich. He died to make us live. He was made sin to make us righteous. He became weak to make us strong. He suffered to give us glory. He went to hell in order to take us to Heaven. He was condemned in order to justify us. He was made sick so we could be healed. He was cast out of the presence of God to make us welcome in His presence. READ ISAIAH 53 4. HE IDENTIFIED WITH US Christ became one with us in sin that we might become one with Him in righteousness. He became as we were to the end that we might be as He is now. He became one with us in death that we might become one with Him in life. He became one with our sin on the cross, that we might become one with Him in His glory. Romans 6:5For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, 6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him Ephesians 2:4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. When Christ went to the cross, we were crucified together with Him. When He died we died with Him. When He was raised from the dead we rose together with Him. When He sat down at the throne of God we sat down together with Him.

5. HE RECONCILED US WITH GOD Reconciliation is the restoration of harmony between 2 persons of variance by removal of existing obstacles. Christ brought reconciliation and made peace between man and God. A just God reconciled a rebellious sinner through Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation 20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God. Reconciliation is a change from enmity to friendship. God is inviting you to be His friend. In scripture reconciliation begins with God and includes removal of His wrath towards us. It is also the restoration of Gods forfeited favor. This reconciliation makes God our friend. Ro 5:1says we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 6. HE MADE US THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD Because of The Cross of Jesus Christ, 2Co 5:21 says He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. WHAT IS RIGHTEOUSNESS? It is the ability to stand before God without the sense of guilt or inferiority. Heb 4:16 says Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace Continuation on .. THE POWER OF THE CROSS John 19:30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. (Uhoro niwarika; akiinamia mutwe, agituikana Dholuo- Orumo) Christianity is a relationship between GOD and man based on the FINISHED work of THE CROSS of JESUS. Christianity is an experience based on the FINISHED work of THE CROSS, but before JESUS would accomplish His assignment of saving mankind, He had to be born a man Recap on the series so far 6. SUBSTITUTION CHRIST BECAME OUR SUBSTITUTION. 2Co 8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich. READ ISAIAH 53:4 Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows 5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. 6 And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted, He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth. 8 He was taken from prison and from judgment, He was cut off from the land of the living; For the transgressions of My people He was stricken. 9 And they made His grave with the wicked-But with the rich at His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor was any deceit in His mouth. 10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him; He shall see His seed, 11 He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors. 7. IDENTIFICATION CHRIST IDENTIFIED WITH US Christ became one with us in sin that we might become one with Him in righteousness. He became as we were to the end that we might be as He is now. He became one with us in death that we might become one with Him in life. He became one with our sin on the cross, that we might become one with Him in His glory. from the dead we rose together with Him. When He sat down at the throne of God we sat down together with Him. He suffered for you, so you can REIGN with Him. Right now, you are sitted with Him, reigning with Him. You are not a nobody. . AS CHRIST IS, SO ARE WE. 1John 4:17 as He is, so are we in this world. HE BECAME AS YOU WERE SO YOU CAN BE AS HE IS. He has identified Himself with you. Hebrews 2:11 For both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren. CHRIST is not ashamed to be identified with you!!! 8. RIGHTEOUSNESS CHRIST MADE US THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD. 2Co 5:21 says He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. Because of Jesus Christ, you have been made RIGHTEOUS. WHAT IS RIGHTEOUSNESS? Righteousness is the ability to stand before God without the sense of guilt or inferiority. Heb 4:16 says Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace Righteousness is to have A RIGHT STANDING WITH GOD. And the beauty is, you will never be more RIGHTEOUS than you are right now. There is nothing that you could ever do that would make GOD love you more than He already does. YOU HAVE BEEN MADE THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD. Righteous is not something that you will be one day, RIGHTEOUS is who you already are in CHRIST. You dont TITHE to become righteous, you tithe because you are righteous. You dont live right to be righteous, you live right because you are righteous. BEING in CHRIST is what has MADE you become RIGHTEOUS in the eyes of GOD. ,,,,, Now, there is a blessing in being righteous- Ps 5:12 For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous. Pr 11:31 the righteous will be recompensed on the earth. What is the Blessing of the Righteous? THE BLESSING OF THE RIGHTEOUS 1. GOD makes you a COVERING- Abraham had a peculiar conversation with GOD in Genesis 18 in which he asked Him, if there were 50, 45, 40, 30, 20, 10 righteous people in the city, would you destroy it? And the LORD answered Abraham in verse 32 "I will not destroy it for the sake of ten." But the day Lot left Sodom GOD destroyed it. Jeremiah 5:1 "Run to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem; See now and know; And seek in her open places If you can find a man, If there is anyone who executes judgment, Who seeks the truth, And I will pardon her. And it is true from these examples that there are families, cities and even nations that are preserved from destruction because there is ONE righteous man in their midst. There are certain things that will never happen to your family because you are there GOD makes the RIGHTEOUS a covering for His mercy- and even destruction can by-pass homes like in the day of death in Egypt because of the RIGHTEOUS. It didnt even matter for how long Rahab had been a believer, but from the moment she believed, she became a covering for her family even when the walls of Jericho came tumbling down- as long as they were in her house, they were safe. 2. GODs PRESENCE- Ps 14:5 God is with the generation of the righteous. 3. FAVOR- Ps 5:12 For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield. 4. PROTECTION- Job 36:7 He does not withdraw His eyes from the righteous Pr 18:10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe. 5. EXALTATION- Job 36:7 the righteous are on the throne with kings, For He has seated them forever, And they are exalted. Ps 75:10 the horns of the righteous shall be exalted." 6. ANSWERED PRAYERS- Ps 34:17 The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears, Pr 15:29 The LORD is far from the wicked, But He hears the prayer of the righteous. Jas 5:16 The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. 7. DELIVERANCE- Ps 34:17 The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles. Ps 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all. Ps 37:39 But the salvation of the righteous is from the LORD; He is their strength in the time of trouble. 8. PROVISION- David said in Ps 37:25 I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread. Pr 13:25 The righteous eats to the satisfying of his soul, 9. PRESERVATION- Ps 37:17 the LORD upholds the righteous. What kills others doesnt have to kill the believer. The floods that killed men and living things, are the same floods upon which Noah floated, because he had a right standing with GOD. 10. WEALTH- Ps 37:29 The righteous shall inherit the land, Pr 15:6 In the house of the righteous there is much treasure, Pr 13:22 the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous. 11. STABILITY- Ps 55:22 Cast your burden on the LORD, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.

12. PROGRESS- Ps 92:12 The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. 13. ILLUMINATION/REVELATION- Ps 97:11 Light is sown for the righteous, Proverbs 3:32 His secret is with the righteous. 14. LEGACY- Ps 112:6 The righteous will be in everlasting remembrance. 15. GODs LOVE- Ps 146:8 The LORD loves the righteous. 16. WISDOM- Proverbs 2:7 He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous 17. FAMILY STABILITY- Pr 12:7 the house of the righteous will stand. 18. FRUITFULNESS- Pr 12:12 the root of the righteous yields fruit. Psalm 1 says whatever he does shall prosper 19. RESTORATION- Pr 24:16 For a righteous man may fall seven times And rise again, 20. WELLNESS- Isa 3:10 "Say to the righteous that it shall be well with them, For they shall eat the fruit of their doings. 21. ETERNAL LIFE- Pr 14:32 the righteous has a refuge in his death. Matthew 25:46 these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life." LET US WORSHIP OUR GOD FOR HIS GOODNESS FOR THE GIFT OF THE CROSS OF JESUS, FOR THE GIFT OF REDEMPTION, JUSTIFICATION, RIGHTEOUSNESS .
