STEPS FOR CONVENTIONAL SEISMIC ANALYSIS

Assign reduced stiffness for coupled beams Mesh the walls Assign PIER LABELS for walls

18. Define static load cases gravity loads 19. Assign gravity uniform loads to slabs (current floor) 20. Assign uniform loads to perimetrical beams (from exterior curtain walls) 21. Replicate the defined story 22. Assign gravity uniform loads to terrace slabs 23. Assign uniform loads to terrace perimetrical beams (from attic) 24. Define Mass Source 25. Check model & Set Analysis Options

STEPS FOR CONVENTIONAL SEISMIC ANALYSIS 26. Run Analysis 27. Show Mode Shapes & Display Modal Participating Mass Ratio --28. Define static load cases earthquake loads 29. Re-run Analysis 30. Verify the GF story shear (by comparing it with the hand-calculated conventional seismic force Fb=cWT)
31. Check the shear force in the coupling beams & the axial force in the RC coupled walls * If the shear force is too large or if one of the RC walls is tensioned (positive axial force), unlock the model, reduce the height of the coupling beams, re-analyze and re-check Check the shear force in the RC walls * If the shear force is too large, unlock the model, increase the width of the respective RC walls, re-analyze and re-check

STEPS FOR CONVENTIONAL SEISMIC ANALYSIS 33. Show Deformed Shape for EQ load cases 34. Visualize the joint displacement and Lateral Drifts 35. Check the amplified drifts for SLS and ULS ***
*** If the drifts are larger than the admissible ones, unlock the model, increase the width of the RC walls, re-analyze and recheck again the drifts.

--36. Define LOAD COMBINATIONS

37. Show wall (PIER) & C.B. forces (N, M3-3, V2-2)

38. Show beam forces (M3-3, V2-2) 39. Show column forces for EQ on OX dir. (N, M3-3, V2-2)
*** PAY ATTENTION if you rotated the local axes for some members

Show column forces for EQ on OY dir. (N, M2-3, V3-3)

*** PAY ATTENTION if you rotated the local axes for some members
